Microsoft reportedly offered some Windows 11 users 1,300 Microsoft Rewards points for sticking with Edge after they searched Bing for Chrome—but that was a promotion reported in November 2025, not a verified offer for everyone today. Whether it is available now depends on what appears in your Rewards account and region.
What was the Edge-versus-Chrome offer?
Digital Trends reported on November 11, 2025, that some Windows 11 users who searched for “Chrome” in Microsoft Edge using Bing saw an offer of 1,300 Microsoft Rewards points if they continued using Edge instead of switching to Chrome. The report described possible reward examples that varied by location, including gift cards, Roblox items, Spotify access, and charitable donations. Digital Trends’ report is evidence of a promotion shown to some users at that time; it does not establish a universal rollout.

Is Microsoft still offering it?
Microsoft’s official Rewards pages explain how the program works, but they do not confirm that this specific 1,300-point Edge offer is still active. Its current availability, eligible users, and end date are not established. Check the offer shown in your account rather than assuming it applies to all Edge users.
Where to check
- Open your Microsoft Rewards dashboard while signed in to the account you use with Edge.
- Review the offers and redemption options displayed for your account and region.
- If the promotion appears in Edge or Bing, read its terms there, including eligibility and any expiration date. The terms for the reported 2025 offer are not established by the sources available.
How Microsoft Rewards points work
Microsoft says qualified searches, acquisitions, and other offers can earn Rewards points. Its support information also lists Bing searches, MSN articles, the Bing mobile app, and Edge among ways to earn. Eligibility and earning limits can vary by country or region, so consult Microsoft Rewards and Microsoft Support’s earning guidance for the terms that apply to your account.

Points do not have a guaranteed, fixed cash value. Available rewards and the points needed to redeem them vary by region and can change. Microsoft’s redemption guidance directs members to check the rewards available to them.
Do Rewards points expire?
Microsoft says a non-promotional account balance does not expire. Promotional balance follows the expiration terms of the specific promotion. Because the terms for the reported Edge offer are not established, no expiration date can be assigned to its points. See Microsoft’s points-expiration information and the terms shown with any offer you receive.
