No Musk–Jon Stewart interview is confirmed in the available record. Musk’s reported offer was conditional: he would appear if The Daily Show aired the interview unedited. The show accepted that condition, according to a later account by Stewart, but Stewart said Musk did not respond when he tried to arrange the appearance.
What was Musk’s offer?
After Jon Stewart criticized the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Elon Musk reportedly said he would go on The Daily Show if the program aired the interview unedited. That was a conditional offer, not confirmation that a booking had been made or an interview recorded.

Did The Daily Show accept?
In an April 24, 2025 report, The Daily Beast recounted Stewart saying the show accepted Musk’s condition. Stewart described the exchange: “He said, ‘I’ll come on the show if you air it unedited.’ And we went, ‘Sure, fine. That’s how most of them are, so sure, what the f—?’” The acceptance addressed the unedited-broadcast condition; it did not establish a scheduled or completed interview. The Daily Beast’s account

Why wasn’t an interview arranged?
Stewart said Musk later called him a “propagandist” and began backing away. Stewart also said he sent Musk a direct message asking whether there was someone on Musk’s team he should contact to make the interview happen. “I did DM him,” Stewart said, adding, “I got ghosted.” That is Stewart’s account of his outreach and its lack of response; it does not independently establish Musk’s intentions.

The official Daily Show listing on Paramount+ surfaced episodes through October 6, 2026, and did not identify Musk as a guest. The October 6 episode was listed as hosted by Michael Kosta; the October 5 episode featured Stewart and former Anthropic researcher Jacob Coxon. This is a check of the episodes shown in that listing, not proof that a later appearance could never be announced.
