There’s no evidence that any desktop PC deal price is one you’ll “never see again.” Amazon’s 2026 Prime Big Deal Days run October 6–7, and a reported HP Omen 35L offer is one example worth checking—but a discount badge alone doesn’t prove it’s a good buy. Verify the exact configuration, live seller and price, then compare it with recent price history and equivalent systems before deciding.

Which Prime Day sale does this cover?

Amazon lists Prime Big Deal Days 2026 for October 6–7 and its summer Prime Day 2026 for June 23–26. This article focuses on the October event. The available deal reports are U.S.-market editorial coverage; check that an offer is available in your country, since event dates, stock and prices can vary by market.

Prime Big Deal Days is Amazon’s fall shopping event, distinct from summer Prime Day. Amazon’s event page lists the dates for both in 2026: Amazon’s event information.

What desktop deal is being reported?

HP Omen 35L gaming desktop

Tom’s Guide’s October 5, 2026 deal report lists an HP Omen 35L gaming desktop at $2,799, compared with a stated prior price of $4,999. That is a time-sensitive reported offer, not a guaranteed live price or a stable measure of the system’s market value. The report does not establish the exact CPU, graphics card, memory, storage, seller, warranty or return terms for the specific configuration in its price claim. Confirm those details on the listing before comparing or buying: Tom’s Guide’s October desktop deal coverage.

TechRadar’s Prime Big Deal Days coverage also includes compact and office mini PCs, a different category for people who need a productivity desktop rather than a gaming tower. A small form factor can save desk space, but compare its workload capability, ports and upgrade options with your needs instead of treating it as a cheaper substitute for a gaming PC: TechRadar’s current Prime Big Deal Days coverage.

How to tell whether a desktop PC deal is good value

For a gaming tower, match the components first

Compare the graphics card and processor before judging the price. They have the greatest bearing on gaming capability, and two desktops with the same case or product-family name may have substantially different configurations. Then check:

For an office or compact desktop, start with the workload

Match the system to the applications you actually use. Check its size, memory, storage, ports and upgradeability, especially if you expect to add storage or connect several displays and peripherals. A mini PC and a gaming tower serve different priorities, so compare each with systems in the same class rather than relying on the discount percentage.

Use price history without mistaking it for a forecast

Amazon says its product pages can show 30-day, 90-day or 365-day price lows. Those windows can help you see whether today’s price is unusually low relative to recent listing history. They do not establish an all-time low, guarantee that the reference product is an identical configuration, or predict whether the price will fall again. Amazon says more than 50 million customers have used its price-history tool; that is an Amazon-reported figure, not an independent assessment of the tool’s accuracy.

Amazon also explains that its displayed savings may be calculated against a verified reference price—either a List Price or a Typical Price based on recent customer prices. A crossed-out price or sale badge therefore needs context: compare the live price with the same configuration’s price history and equivalent systems. Amazon says more than 80% of deals during its most recent Prime Day were at Amazon’s lowest price of the year so far. That is Amazon’s figure for its deals overall, not a desktop-PC-specific statistic or independent evidence about this Omen offer. See Amazon’s explanation of deal reference prices and Amazon’s price-history information.

Check the listing before you buy

  1. Verify the configuration. Record the exact CPU, graphics card, memory, storage and model number. Make sure the price comparison is for that same configuration.
  2. Check the live offer. Confirm the current price, seller, stock and delivery details on the retailer’s listing; reported sale prices can change or disappear.
  3. Compare recent history. Review the available price-history window and treat it as context, not proof of an all-time low or a prediction.
  4. Compare like-for-like alternatives. Check equivalent desktops from other sellers, including warranty and return terms where available.
  5. Decide based on your use. For gaming, prioritize the GPU and CPU; for office or compact PCs, weigh workload, size, ports and upgradeability.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
