Depositphotos may suit freelancers and teams that need a broad stock-media library, but whether it is worth paying for depends on download volume, usage rights, and the final price shown at checkout. Its image plans include monthly and annual subscriptions and prepaid packs; separate offerings cover business, video, and audio. Before choosing, check which catalogue your plan includes, whether Standard or Extended licensing fits your project, and how automatic renewal works.
What is Depositphotos?
Depositphotos is an online stock-media service offering photos, vectors, illustrations, PNG files, video, music, and sound effects. Its current image-plan page describes an unlimited image library of more than 190 million licensed images. That is Depositphotos’ own catalogue figure, not an independently audited count. The same page displays a combined figure of 334,864,321 photos, vectors, videos, music, and sound effects, as well as 13,320,828 satisfied customers; those figures are vendor claims, not independently verified statistics. Depositphotos’ image-plan page displayed a US-dollar example of $29 per month for monthly-billed Unlimited Downloads and a selected prepaid pack example of $9 per image, or $27 total. These are page-displayed examples observed in 2026, not guaranteed prices for every buyer. To judge whether a subscription or pack is the better fit, estimate how many assets you will actually download and compare that with the full cost and commitment. A lower apparent per-image cost is useful only if the plan covers the media and rights your projects require.
Are Depositphotos downloads really unlimited?
The unlimited image option is advertised for image downloads, but “unlimited” should not be read as permission to use every asset for every purpose or as a promise that every Depositphotos catalogue is included. Confirm the plan’s media coverage, license, and current conditions. The subscription agreement also says unusually intensive download activity may temporarily trigger automated protection measures; Depositphotos says it reviews activity and restores legitimate access. Can you use Depositphotos images commercially?
Depositphotos says its Individual Standard License covers a range of personal and commercial uses, including advertising, marketing, interfaces, packaging, publications, and book design, subject to the license agreement. The plan FAQ gives a Standard License print ceiling of 500,000 copies of material created using a downloaded file. Individual or business plan?
Depositphotos describes individual accounts as intended for one user and recommends business plans when a company uses files or shares them with a team. Its business page describes company licensing and collaboration controls. If multiple colleagues need access or the company should hold the relevant rights, review business-plan terms rather than assuming an individual subscription covers team use. Do you keep images after canceling?
Depositphotos says downloaded files retain lifetime usage rights, including after a plan expires, subject to the license attached to each download. This does not mean a canceled subscription preserves future download access or expands the original license. Yes. The subscription agreement says plans automatically renew unless renewal is canceled. Depositphotos says users can switch off renewal in the account’s active-plan settings before the term ends, and that it does not send an impending-renewal notice. The agreement also distinguishes unused downloads by renewal status:

Is Depositphotos AI output safe to use?
“Safe” depends on the output, the submitted input, and the intended use. Depositphotos’ Responsible AI Use Rules, effective January 22, 2026, say AI outputs are not human-verified and may contain misleading or inaccurate information. Users are responsible for reviewing outputs and applying their own judgment, and for having rights to any inputs they submit. The rules prohibit deception about whether output was human-created, using outputs to train or improve AI systems, harmful or fraudulent use, and content that violates third-party rights.

What do customer reviews tell you?
Trustpilot contains individual reports describing both positive and frustrating experiences. One reviewer praised image range, filters, redownloads, and downloadable license certificates; others described CAPTCHA friction, confusion about which collection an unlimited plan included, or a licensing dispute. These are anecdotes, not independently verified findings or representative usage data, and they do not establish how often a problem occurs or how the service handles every dispute. Is Depositphotos worth it?
Depositphotos is most worth considering when its available catalogue and media types fit your workflow, your expected download volume justifies the chosen plan, and the license matches how you will use each asset. Before committing, check the final checkout price, the plan’s included collection, Standard versus Extended rights, individual versus business suitability, and renewal settings. If AI output is part of the workflow, factor in the responsibility to review it and confirm feature-specific terms. The available customer reports can flag questions to investigate, but they do not replace a hands-on assessment of search and download workflows.
