The De’Longhi Nespresso Gran Lattissima is a good fit if you want one-touch espresso and milk drinks from Nespresso Original capsules, without separately steaming milk. Its main compromise is built into that convenience: milk drinks still require a removable carafe and routine cleaning. The available independent listings do not disclose enough test results to support a firm performance score, so this review focuses on the machine’s documented features and the buying details that vary by market.
What the Gran Lattissima is—and which model this review covers
This is a De’Longhi-made Nespresso Original capsule machine with touch-selected coffee and milk beverages. The market identifier matters: De’Longhi’s UK page names the black machine EN640.B, while the US page calls its black version EN640B. Their electrical specifications and some capacities differ, so check the model label and regional product page before buying. De’Longhi UK lists the EN640.B; De’Longhi US lists the EN640B.

Capsules and drinks: convenient, but tied to Original
The EN640.B uses Nespresso Original capsules, not Vertuo capsules. De’Longhi UK says the machine works with the Original range and that seven Nespresso pods are included in the UK package. The UK page describes a range of more than 30 blends; capsule selection and availability depend on where you buy them. CHOICE also classifies its EN640.B listing as a Nespresso Original capsule machine. CHOICE’s listing identifies the capsule format.

De’Longhi lists Ristretto, Espresso, and Lungo alongside Caffè Latte, Cappuccino, Flat White, Latte Macchiato, hot milk, and milk foam. The touch panel has no display, and the milk drinks use the removable carafe. The manufacturer advertises nine one-touch recipes on the US page, but its UK page describes the count inconsistently. Treat the menu names as the useful guide and check the manual for the precise recipe set on your regional version. The listed 19-bar pump and automatic milk-foam settings are manufacturer specifications; they do not establish taste or extraction quality.
Milk-drink convenience comes with a cleaning routine
A removable milk carafe avoids the need to froth milk separately for each drink, but it does not make milk upkeep disappear. De’Longhi says the milk system has an automatic cleaning feature. Its UK listing says the milk-carafe components are dishwasher-safe and that the detachable container can be stored in the refrigerator between uses. The US product page lists a cleaning and descaling alarm. These are manufacturer-stated features; they do not quantify cleaning time or establish how often the machine needs attention.

Follow the instructions for your specific regional model for cleaning steps, descaling intervals, and any required descaling solution. The EN640.B support page provides access to its manual and product fiche. No particular branded descaler is established as compatible here, so do not choose one solely on the basis of a general descaling alert.
What independent reviews establish—and what they do not
The available independent listings confirm the product category but do not provide a usable scorecard in their accessible pages. CHOICE lists the EN640.B as a capsule espresso machine and gives a two-year warranty, thermoblock heating, Italian country of origin, and an AUD 599 listed price. Its expert rating and detailed results for taste, ease of use, milk frothing, temperature consistency, and measured heat-up are member-only. CHOICE’s product listing therefore cannot substantiate a positive or negative verdict on those test areas.

- Consider it if you already want the Nespresso Original capsule format and value touch-selected milk drinks without a separate milk-frothing step.
