The De’Longhi DEX214F, sold in some markets as the Tasciugo AriaDry Multi, is a compressor dehumidifier that De’Longhi rates at up to 14 litres of moisture removed per 24 hours. That is a manufacturer maximum measured under warm, humid conditions, not a guaranteed output in every room. The published figures are consistent enough to describe the machine’s intended specification, but they do not show how it performs in a real home.

This is a specification-led review. It is based on manufacturer material and two retailer listings. It does not include hands-on testing, independent laboratory measurements, household extraction tests or long-term ownership experience, so nothing below describes how the unit sounds, dries or lasts in use.

What the DEX214F is

De’Longhi’s support centre identifies the DEX214F as the Tasciugo AriaDry Multi and provides access to its user instructions at https://www.delonghi.com/en-us/s/DEX214F. The most detailed product copy examined is De’Longhi’s Egypt-region product page, which describes the unit’s features and lists its technical table. Two retailers, Appliances Direct in the UK and Winnings in Australia, publish their own listings and data sheets. Where this article attributes a figure, it names the source so you can see which regional or retail version it comes from.

The 14-litre claim and the conditions behind it

The headline figure is “up to 14 litres of excess moisture in 24 hours”. The sources do not agree on every detail of the test condition, so the table below sets out what each one states.

Source Figure stated Condition stated
De’Longhi Egypt product page, marketing copy Up to 14 L in 24 h 30°C, 80% RH
De’Longhi Egypt product page, technical table Normal-mode extraction figure 32°C, 80% RH
De’Longhi Group technical data sheet DSDL_19025_A, dated 2019-08-09 14 L in 24 h 30°C, 80% RH
Appliances Direct UK listing 14 L/day rating Not stated

The 30°C/80% RH condition appears in two places, and the technical table on the regional page labels its normal-mode figure at a slightly higher 32°C/80% RH. The page does not explain the difference, so treat 14 litres as a maximum at warm, humid conditions, and do not assume the same output at the lower temperatures found in most living rooms.

Compressor dehumidifiers generally remove less water as air temperature and humidity fall. That is a general principle, not a measured curve for this model: none of the sources give extraction figures for a cooler room, and the Winnings sheet’s 2–30°C operating range describes where the unit runs, not how much it removes across that range.

Published specifications

The table combines the figures from each source. Where two sources disagree, both values are shown.

The dimension and weight figures come from a 2019 data sheet that covers both the DEX214F and the DEX216F. Treat them as close to the product’s build, but confirm against the packaging or the current instruction manual if fit under a unit or on a shelf matters to you.

Noise: two published figures

The current regional product page and the UK retailer list 40 dB. The 2019 De’Longhi Group data sheet lists 37 dB(A). None of the sources say why the figures differ, and none states the measurement method or the operating conditions behind either value. These are attributed specifications, not measurements taken for this article.

If noise matters in a bedroom or a home office, plan around the higher 40 dB figure. It is the one that appears on the more recent listings, so it is the more cautious assumption, though it is still an attributed value.

Laundry mode and filtration

De’Longhi describes a laundry function and a double filtration system made up of a dust filter and a removable allergen filter. The product copy does not give drying times, how much moisture a laundry cycle removes, or the energy used per cycle, so the sources cannot tell you how long a load of clothes takes to dry.

The 2019 data sheet says the allergen filter is included only in certain models. Confirm what is in the box for your specific unit before assuming the filter is supplied. The Appliances Direct listing offers a two-pack of anti-allergen filters for the DEX212SF, DEX214RF and DEX216RF. That listing does not establish compatibility with the DEX214F, so check the part number against your unit’s label and the manufacturer’s parts information before buying replacements.

Tank, drainage and tank-full behaviour

The tank holds 2.1 litres. The UK retailer says the unit stops when the tank is full, and it describes a continuous-drainage setup. The 2019 data sheet describes a drain hose of roughly one metre. The Winnings sheet also says a continuous drainage hose is provided, but it is a retailer-hosted document, so verify that the hose is in your regional package before relying on it.

The sources do not reproduce the drain-connection procedure. Follow the instruction manual for connecting the hose, and check that the drain point is low enough and close enough for a one-metre hose to reach it.

Refrigerant safety

The unit uses R290, which De’Longhi’s data sheet describes as flammable. The sheet states:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

“This appliance contains the flammable refrigerant R290. Any maintenance operation on the refrigeration circuit must be performed uniquely by specialized personnel which must have adequate skills and the certification required by the F-GAS directive.”

Refrigeration-circuit work should only be done by qualified specialists. Do not attempt to open the sealed refrigerant system yourself, and contact De’Longhi support or a qualified service engineer for any repair involving the refrigeration circuit. Energy use: how to estimate it yourself

The sources do not give a measured electricity cost for this model, and the cost depends on your tariff and how many hours the unit runs. You can estimate it with the stated input power:

  1. Convert the input power to kilowatts: 305 W = 0.305 kW.
  2. Multiply by the hours the unit runs per day. At 8 hours, that is 2.44 kWh per day.
  3. Multiply the daily kWh by your electricity price per kWh to get a daily cost.

The 305 W figure is a stated input rating. Actual draw varies with conditions and the unit’s cycling, so treat this as a planning estimate rather than a bill forecast.

What is not established

  • Independent or hands-on test results for extraction, noise, speed or room coverage.
  • Extraction performance in a cooler ordinary room, or at humidity levels below 80% RH.
  • Measured energy use, running cost or laundry-cycle energy.
  • Product lifespan, long-term reliability or the outcome of owner reviews.
  • Comparisons with other dehumidifiers. The sources do not support a claim that this unit is quieter or more efficient than any alternative.
  • Current price, stock, local warranty terms and regional package contents.

Who the DEX214F suits

  • Warm, humid spaces: if your room regularly sits near 30°C and 80% RH, the 14-litre headline figure is closest to the conditions it was measured under.
  • Cooler or drier rooms: expect less moisture removal than the headline suggests, and the sources offer no figure to plan with.
  • Continuous drainage: suitable if you can place the unit near a drain point within reach of the roughly one-metre hose; otherwise plan to empty the 2.1-litre tank.
  • Indoor clothes drying: the laundry function is listed, but the sources provide no drying time, so test it with your own load before relying on it.
  • Noise-sensitive rooms: plan around 40 dB, keeping in mind that the 37 dB(A) figure exists and that the basis for both values is not stated.

Before buying, check the current listing and regional variant on the manufacturer’s support page at https://www.delonghi.com/en-us/s/DEX214F, confirm the included filters, and confirm the drain hose is in your package.
