The key buying caveat is availability: CHOICE labels it a discontinued model and reports a price of $2,499, which is not a verified current offer. Publicly visible CHOICE information does not disclose its expert rating or performance score, so the available evidence supports a specification and buying-fit review, not a cooking-performance verdict.
Is the DeLonghi DEP909M discontinued?
Yes. CHOICE’s Australian listing labels the DEP909M “Discontinued model.” The same page reports $2,499, but that is the page’s reported price, not confirmation of a current sale price or available new stock. Any listing a buyer finds should be checked for market, condition, stock status, warranty and return terms.
CHOICE’s public page does not disclose its expert rating or performance score. The existence of a review listing therefore should not be read as an endorsement or as evidence that this oven outperforms comparable models.

What are the DEP909M oven dimensions?
CHOICE lists claimed external dimensions of 478 x 896 x 566 mm (H x W x D), internal baking dimensions of 290 x 650 x 400 mm, and a cabinet cut-out of 467 x 853 x 544 mm. It also lists four shelf positions. These are published specifications, not a substitute for checking the specific appliance and cabinetry.

The DEP909M specification sheet cautions that dimensions and specifications apply to the product at the time of issue and may change; it says diagrams are guides and that “Final fittings should be made with actual product.” Before buying a used or remaining-stock unit—or altering cabinetry—have a qualified installer verify fit using the actual oven and its installation documentation.

How the manual describes the cooking modes
The DEP909M manual describes eight thermostat-controlled program positions using four heating elements: bottom, top, grill and circular. It explains conventional convection from the upper and lower elements, forced convection using a circular element and fan, semi-forced convection, infrared grill radiation, ventilated grilling and fan-only defrost. These descriptions explain the intended operating principles; they are not test results or proof of how evenly or quickly the oven cooks.
Safety and installation documents
The model’s use-and-care manual warns that “The oven door becomes very hot during operation” and says to keep children away. It also cautions users not to touch internal heating elements. For operating instructions, cleaning, installation, electrical requirements and the complete safety guidance, consult the full DEP909M documentation rather than relying on a brief product summary.
