The De’Longhi Dedica EC680.M is a narrow, manual espresso machine designed for people who want to prepare espresso and froth milk themselves without giving up much counter width. It supports ground coffee and ESE pods, but the manufacturer’s specifications do not establish how its shots taste or how consistently it performs. Consider it if compact dimensions and hands-on control suit your routine; look elsewhere if you need evidence of tested espresso quality or automatic milk preparation.
What the Dedica EC680.M offers
De’Longhi’s US product page describes the EC680M as a manual espresso machine with a thermoblock heater, a 15-bar pump, and a manual cappuccino system. Its listed electrical specifications are 1300 W and 120 V. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements of extraction or heating performance. De’Longhi’s EC680M product page
The machine has controls for single and double shots. Its three-in-one filter holder is described for single espresso, double espresso, and ESE pods; the product page also lists two included filter baskets. ESE compatibility does not mean pods are included.

How much counter and cup space does it need?
De’Longhi US lists the machine at 13 × 5.9 × 12 inches and 9.3 lb. The 5.9-inch listed width is its most notable fit advantage for a crowded counter. Check the depth and height against your counter layout, including any overhead cabinets and the space needed to access the removable water tank.

What is it like to make drinks?
Espresso with grounds or ESE pods
You can use ground coffee or ESE pods according to the manufacturer. Grounds give you a more hands-on preparation workflow; ESE pods offer a standardized serving format. The available product information does not establish shot taste, extraction consistency, temperature stability, or how easy either method is to dial in.

Milk drinks require manual frothing
The EC680M has a manual steam wand rather than an automatic milk system. You are responsible for positioning the wand and controlling the frothing process. That suits buyers willing to learn the technique; it is less convenient if you want milk prepared automatically. No verified steaming-speed or milk-texture testing is available here.

De’Longhi lists automatic shutoff 20 minutes after the last brew on its US page. Treat that as a manufacturer-listed feature, not a separately tested power-use result.
Who should consider the Dedica EC680.M?
- Consider it if a slim machine, ground-coffee or ESE-pod options, and manual drink preparation match your priorities.
- Think carefully if you want push-button milk drinks, since frothing is manual.
- Compare alternatives if independently verified shot quality, temperature consistency, steaming speed, or durability are deciding factors; those results are not established by the available manufacturer information.
What this review can—and cannot—establish
This is a feature-based assessment, not a hands-on performance review. De’Longhi’s product page and EC680-series manual document the listed design, specifications, and operating guidance, but they do not establish real-world taste, reliability, noise, or comparative performance. A Coffee Guru review result was surfaced, but its page could not be retrieved, so its claims cannot be independently assessed here.
