The De’Longhi DDSX220WF-WH is listed by De’Longhi as the Tasciugo AriaDry Multi 21L dehumidifier. Its documented features include adjustable humidity control, a dedicated Dry mode, a removable water tank, continuous hose drainage, filtration and Wi-Fi app control. The 21L figure is the manufacturer’s model designation, not an independently verified extraction result. Whether it suits your home depends on the conditions you need it to handle—and on checking the correct app and replacement parts for your regional version.
What the DDSX220WF-WH is
De’Longhi identifies the DDSX220WF-WH as its Tasciugo AriaDry Multi 21L dehumidifier. The manufacturer’s model support pages and product documentation establish that identity; they do not provide an independent performance test showing how much water the appliance extracts in a particular room or climate. De’Longhi’s model support page and its manuals page are useful starting points for checking documents associated with the exact model.
The manual describes carrying handles and castors, a tank with a viewing window, an EPA filter and a silver-ion dust filter. Controls cover dehumidification, ventilation, Dry mode, outlet swing and a timer. These are documented functions, not independent evidence of room coverage, energy efficiency or drying speed. The user manual should be checked against the model label and region of your appliance.

Humidity control and Dry mode
Adjustable humidity target
The manual describes humidity settings from 30% to 70%. Environmental conditions may prevent the unit from reaching the lowest setting. When it reaches the selected level, dehumidification stops, but the fan continues at a very slow speed. The manual also lists three ventilation speeds and a swing outlet.

Dry mode for laundry
The manual calls the laundry-related function “Dry mode,” rather than a separate laundry program. It describes the mode as operating at maximum dehumidifying capacity and recommends it for especially humid conditions or faster laundry drying. That is the manufacturer’s intended use; no independent drying-time result is established here.
Tank emptying and continuous drainage
Using the removable tank
With tank drainage, condensate collects in the removable reservoir. When it is full, the appliance stops and displays a tank alarm, so it will need to be emptied before it can resume normal operation.

Connecting a drain hose
For longer unattended use, the manual describes attaching a hose below the outlet for continuous external drainage. Route it so water can flow out freely and avoid kinks that could cause water to back up. A hose listed for another regional version should not be assumed to fit: check the exact model and part number with local De’Longhi support.

For example, De’Longhi’s Australian/New Zealand parts catalog lists a drain tube for the “DDSX 220 WF-WH (2021 – R290)” regional version, product code 0148520206V21. The same catalog lists items including filter, tank assembly, rubber foot pads and stoppers, but its listing does not establish compatibility outside that market. Check the AU/NZ parts catalog or ask the support channel for your region to confirm a part before ordering.

Filters: useful feature, not proof of air-purifier performance
The manual documents an EPA filter alongside a silver-ion dust filter, but the available documentation does not establish independent air-cleaning performance or a purifier certification. The presence of a filter alone is not enough to judge it as a replacement for a dedicated air purifier.
For upkeep, the manual recommends cleaning the dust filter weekly when the unit is used daily. It says to vacuum it or, if heavily soiled, wash it in warm water and let it dry fully before reinstalling. The EPA filter is described as lasting up to nine months under the manual’s assumptions of eight hours’ daily use at medium working load. Air quality can mean earlier replacement, and the manual recommends original De’Longhi filters. Confirm the correct filter code for your local model before buying.

Wi-Fi and app control: check the instructions for your region
The manual describes built-in Wi-Fi, app control and app-based timer operation, and says Internet access is needed for all functions. However, De’Longhi documents do not agree on the app name: the user manual refers to the De’Longhi Comfort App, while a De’Longhi Group connectivity guide identifies the DDSX220WF as using AriaDry. That guide also specifies 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi for its connected-appliance setup procedure. Consult De’Longhi Group’s connectivity guide alongside the current setup instructions for your country and exact appliance version; do not assume the app name or setup steps are universal.
Operating limits and safety
The manual lists an operating temperature range of 2°C–30°C and relative humidity of 30%–90%. It instructs users to operate the appliance indoors, keep air inlets and outlets clear, and keep it away from heat sources and certain flammable or pressurized items. Its safety material identifies R290 refrigerant and warns against puncturing or burning the appliance; refrigerant-circuit work should be left to qualified personnel. Check the label and instructions supplied with your specific regional version, since the parts catalog identifies its own AU/NZ listing as a 2021 R290 model.
Noise and what the available evidence can establish
One Reddit owner described the unit as “quite loud” and suspected a casing vibration, but that report is anecdotal and does not establish a representative noise level or confirm the cause. No measured sound result is established in the available material. The Reddit discussion should therefore be treated as an individual report, not a noise specification.
Verdict: a feature-rich dehumidifier with practical checks to make
The DDSX220WF-WH’s documented functions cover adjustable humidity settings, a high-capacity Dry mode, tank or hose drainage, filters and Wi-Fi controls. The manual provides a workable maintenance schedule and clear drainage guidance, but the “21L” designation is not a room-performance guarantee. Before buying or setting one up, confirm that its operating limits suit your conditions, that the correct drain hose and filters are available locally, and which app instructions apply to your version. The available documentation does not support a definitive noise verdict or a claim that its filter makes it a proven air purifier.
