Dell’s XPS Googlebook is listed at $999.99 for its base configuration on Dell’s U.S. product page. That is close to the $999 launch price reported by Android Authority—and about $200 below the earlier $1,199 figure attributed to Google. The figures refer to different announcements and listings, not a current Dell price of $1,199.

Is the lower price a better deal?
The price change answers the headline question, but value depends on the configuration and how you plan to use the laptop. Before comparing it with another Googlebook or a Windows laptop, weigh the following:
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Configured price: Compare the price for the memory and storage you actually need, not just the starting price. Check the seller and date because listed prices and stock can change.
- Display and portability: The listed configuration has a 13.4-inch, 2560 × 1600 touch display; Dell lists the laptop at 2.2 pounds and 12.7mm thick. The cited product information does not establish a display refresh rate.
- Android phone fit: Dell positions this as its first XPS laptop designed for Gemini Intelligence and Android phone continuity. That positioning may matter if you want the announced Googlebook and Android ecosystem features, but the product claims are not an independent evaluation of how well they work.
- Seller terms: Availability, return policies, and support can differ between Dell and other sellers. Verify those terms with the seller before ordering.
What Dell says about battery life
Dell claims up to 16 hours of Netflix streaming on a single charge. That is a Dell lab-test result from August 2026 on a Snapdragon X Elite model with a 2.5K LCD, 16GB of memory, and a 512GB SSD, with brightness set to 150 nits and wireless enabled. Dell cautions that actual battery life can be significantly lower and varies by configuration and use. This is a manufacturer test claim, not an independent result.

What the price change does—and does not—tell you
The reported $200 reduction compares Android Authority’s reported $999 launch price with the earlier $1,199 figure. Dell’s live U.S. listing is $999.99, not $999 or $1,199. The lower starting price makes the entry configuration less expensive than the earlier figure suggested, but it does not establish whether the laptop is a better value than competing systems; that depends on the configuration, platform features, and current seller terms.
