Yes—the 2026 Dell XPS 13 is a credible MacBook Neo alternative if you want Windows, a high-refresh touchscreen and a lightweight aluminum design. But the reported $200 Best Buy discount is specifically for the XPS 13 with 16GB of memory and a 512GB SSD: TechRadar and Windows Central reported that configuration at $799.99 on October 5, 2026. A separate 8GB model was reported at $599.99, so check the RAM and storage on the live listing before comparing prices.
What the reported Best Buy deal includes
The $799.99 offer was reported for a Dell XPS 13 with 16GB LPDDR5X memory and a 512GB SSD, down $200 from the stated $999.99 price. TechRadar also says the laptop launched at $899, but its article does not explain that price history; the figures should not be read as one continuous list-price timeline. Windows Central separately reported a $599.99 XPS 13 configuration with 8GB of memory, down $200 from $799.99.
These are US-dollar prices reported by TechRadar and Windows Central on October 5, 2026, not a guarantee of today’s price or availability. Taxes and prices in other countries are not established by those reports. Confirm the retailer listing and exact configuration before buying: TechRadar’s deal report and Windows Central’s report.

There is no universal winner here. The choice depends first on which operating system fits your software and devices, then on the configuration and features you value. The available reports describe the XPS 13 in 8GB and 16GB versions; compare like with like rather than treating the $599.99 and $799.99 deals as the same laptop configuration.

Which XPS 13 configuration makes sense?
Choose 16GB if you multitask
The 16GB/512GB version is the configuration behind the reported $799.99 deal. In WIRED’s review, the reviewer found that Windows 11 background activity and browser tabs could use most of the available memory on the 8GB model, and recommended 16GB for most buyers. That is a reviewer’s experience with one configuration and workload, not a universal performance benchmark, but it is a useful warning if you routinely keep many tabs and apps open.

Consider 8GB for a lighter workload
The reported $599.99 8GB configuration costs less, but its lower price comes with less memory. It may suit basic, lighter use; buyers who expect heavier multitasking should weigh WIRED’s reported experience before choosing it. The sources do not establish that memory can be upgraded later, so do not assume you can add RAM after purchase.
Display, portability and practical trade-offs
The XPS 13’s reported 13.4-inch 2560 × 1600 touchscreen and 120Hz refresh rate are notable reasons to consider it if a responsive Windows display matters to you. Its aluminum design and 2.2 lb weight, as reported by TechRadar, also make portability part of the appeal.

- Windows 11 PRO | Fingerprint Reader
There are only two USB-C ports, according to TechRadar. If your setup needs more connections, a USB-C hub or dock may help, but no specific accessory was tested in the cited coverage. Wi-Fi 7 is another listed XPS feature, though the reports do not establish the benefit you would see on a particular network.
How to interpret the battery results
Published runtime figures depend on the test and review unit, so they are not a promise of everyday battery life. Tom’s Guide reported 14 hours 29 minutes in its 2026 battery test. WIRED reported 15 hours of local video playback in its 2026 review. The methods differ, so these figures should not be treated as a direct head-to-head comparison or a guarantee for every buyer.

Who should choose the XPS 13?
- Consider the XPS 13 if you prefer Windows, want a touchscreen with a high refresh rate, and value a light aluminum laptop. The 16GB/512GB version is the more relevant offer to compare if multitasking is part of your usual workload.
- Consider the MacBook Neo if macOS or Apple’s ecosystem better fits your software and devices. The cited coverage does not provide enough like-for-like Neo specifications or test results to make a full hardware comparison.
- Check the exact deal listing if price is the deciding factor. The reported $799.99 and $599.99 offers are for different memory configurations, and deal prices can change.
TechRadar characterizes the XPS 13 as a solid choice for people who prefer Windows over macOS, while noting that it does not “quite stick the landing.” Windows Central called it a better deal than the MacBook Neo, but that is the publication’s opinion, not a measured comparative finding. Your operating-system preference, workload and the specific configuration matter more than either outlet’s verdict.
