Dell announced the Inspiron 27 7775 all-in-one on May 30, 2017. Its top configuration paired an eight-core AMD Ryzen 7 1700 with a Radeon RX 580, 8 GB of graphics memory and a 27-inch 4K display. Those specifications describe the premium version—not every 7775—and the reported U.S. starting price of $999.99 was for the family’s entry point, not necessarily that flagship configuration.
The 7775 is now a legacy system rather than a current Dell retail launch. Its exact hardware varied by configuration and region, so a used unit should be identified by its components, not just its model name.
What Dell launched in 2017
The Inspiron 27 7000, model 7775, was a 27-inch Windows 10 Home 64-bit all-in-one. Dell’s May 30, 2017 announcement made it the company’s first all-in-one platform based on AMD Ryzen, according to contemporary coverage. Initial U.S. availability was reported for May, with other configurations and markets following. AnandTech’s launch report and the Windows Experience Blog announcement describe the launch context.
The Ryzen 7/RX 580 combination was the headline configuration, but Dell’s official 7775 specifications also list Ryzen 5 1400 and Ryzen 3 1200 processor options. Contemporary launch specifications report an RX 560 graphics option as well. A 7775 label alone therefore does not establish that a machine has the flagship hardware.

Ryzen 7 and RX 580: the flagship specifications
The top configuration brought desktop-class components into a single chassis, with its display, cooling, motherboard and power system integrated rather than arranged as replaceable desktop parts.
| Component | Reported flagship specification |
|---|---|
| Processor | AMD Ryzen 7 1700; 8 cores and 16 threads; 3.0 GHz base and 3.7 GHz boost; 65 W TDP |
| Graphics | AMD Radeon RX 580 with 8 GB GDDR5 |
| Display | 27-inch IPS, 3840 × 2160 (4K), 350 nits, anti-glare |
| Memory | Up to 32 GB DDR4 in reported configurations |
| Storage | Hard-drive-only or hard-drive-plus-SSD configurations, varying by SKU |
| Power | 330 W external adapter for the higher-power configuration |
| Operating system | Windows 10 Home 64-bit |
These are launch-era reported specifications, not a guarantee that every unit has the same parts. Dell’s archived support page identifies the model and provides support resources, but it does not show that the system remains on sale.
Other configurations differed in important ways
The reported Ryzen 5 1400 configuration had four cores and eight threads, with a 3.2 GHz base and 3.4 GHz boost clock. It was paired in launch coverage with an RX 560 carrying 4 GB of GDDR5, a 27-inch Full HD IPS panel rated at 250 nits, and a 180 W external power supply. Dell’s support manual also lists a Ryzen 3 1200 option; the launch specifications cited here do not establish one universal graphics or display pairing for every market and SKU.

Contemporary specifications describe both Full HD and 4K panels: 1920 × 1080 at 250 nits and 3840 × 2160 at 350 nits. The Ryzen 7/RX 580 flagship was reported with the 4K panel, while the Ryzen 5/RX 560 version was associated with Full HD. Dell configurations could vary by region, so treat those pairings as reported launch configurations rather than an absolute rule for every machine.
Memory and storage were SKU-dependent
Reported memory options included 8 GB, 12 GB, 16 GB and 32 GB DDR4, with single- or dual-channel layouts depending on configuration. Storage options included a 1 TB hard drive at 5400 or 7200 RPM, plus hybrid arrangements with an SSD. The launch report references both 128 GB and 256 GB SSD combinations, so neither capacity should be assumed for a particular unit without checking it.
Ports, connectivity and physical layout
Reported launch connectivity included Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11ac Wi-Fi in 1×1 or 2×2 configurations, Bluetooth 4.1, a USB 3.1 Type-C port, a USB 3.1 Type-A port, three USB 3.0 Type-A ports and two USB 2.0 ports. The system also had HDMI input and output, DisplayPort 1.2, an SD/MMC card reader, a 720p webcam with an IR sensor for facial recognition, a microphone array and front-firing stereo audio with Waves MaxxAudio Pro. Check the individual unit’s ports and functions before buying used; layouts and configurations should not be inferred from the family name alone.

Contemporary reporting listed the chassis at approximately 613.8 mm wide, 394 mm high and 53 mm deep (24.2 × 15.5 × 2.1 inches). Those chassis figures do not account for the stand’s footprint or the external power adapter, both of which matter when planning desk space.
What the $999.99 launch price covered
AnandTech reported a U.S. starting price of $999.99 in 2017 for the Inspiron 27 7775 family. That was the entry price, not a confirmed price for the Ryzen 7/RX 580/4K configuration. Dell sold multiple configurations, and processor, graphics, display, memory and storage combinations—and prices—could differ by market. The figure is historical; no current Dell retail price is established by the company’s support listing.
Why the combination stood out at launch
In 2017, eight CPU cores and 16 threads in an all-in-one were unusual, and the RX 580 gave the flagship discrete graphics rather than relying on integrated graphics. The 4K IPS screen also made the system relevant to display-intensive creative work and general desktop use. These parts came with practical constraints: an all-in-one has to manage heat and power inside a compact chassis, and the reported 330 W adapter for the RX 580 configuration illustrates the difference from the lower-power RX 560 version.

Dell and launch coverage positioned the RX 580 configuration for gaming and VR, and contemporary reporting described that SKU as “VR Ready.” That is a launch-era designation, not confirmation that a particular used system will work with a current headset. Headset requirements and connection standards have changed; verify the machine’s actual ports and current driver support against the headset and software you intend to use.

The 7775 has service documentation for internal components, and memory and storage are the most plausible upgrade targets. Replacing a mechanical hard drive with a compatible SSD can address slow storage, but confirm the exact bay and interface for the unit before buying parts. Dell’s manuals and documents provide model-specific service information; their existence does not guarantee that every modern upgrade is supported or that replacement parts remain available.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsGraphics upgrades are much more constrained than in a tower desktop because the GPU, cooling, display and power system are integrated. Do not assume that an RX 580 can be replaced like a standard desktop graphics card. If a unit is missing its external adapter, match the replacement to the installed configuration: launch reporting specifies 330 W for the higher-power system and 180 W for the lower-power one. Verify wattage, connector, voltage and Dell identification rather than relying on wattage alone.

Should you consider one in 2026?
The Ryzen 7 1700 and RX 580 are old components. The RX 580 does not by itself establish acceptable performance in a particular modern game, application or headset, and a 4K panel can place additional demands on graphics performance. Check compatibility for the operating system, drivers and software you plan to run instead of treating the 2017 “VR Ready” label as a current guarantee.
A used 7775 is most plausible when the integrated 27-inch design matters more than easy repairs or graphics upgrades, the display is in excellent condition, and the price reflects its age. A newer all-in-one may suit someone prioritizing newer hardware and software support; a separate desktop and monitor, or a refurbished business desktop with its own screen, is generally the more flexible direction for buyers who prioritize repairs and GPU replacement. These are trade-offs, not benchmark comparisons.
Quick Recap
Used-buying checklist
- Confirm the exact processor and graphics card; the family included more than one CPU, and launch coverage reports both RX 580 and RX 560 graphics.
- Check whether the panel is 4K or Full HD, and inspect it for damage, dead pixels and uneven lighting.
- Verify installed memory, channel layout and storage type: hard drive, SATA SSD, NVMe SSD or a combination.
- Confirm that the correct external power adapter is included and inspect its label and connector.
- Check that the stand is present and that HDMI input and output, USB-C, other USB ports, webcam, IR sensor, speakers, Wi-Fi, Ethernet and card reader work.
- Listen for excessive fan noise and watch for overheating, crashes, graphics artifacts or signs of prior GPU modification.
- Use the service tag with Dell’s support page to find the matching documentation, then confirm that your intended software or headset supports the hardware.
