To delete a synced Chrome bookmark, use desktop Chrome while signed in to the Google Account associated with it. Find the bookmark in Bookmark Manager or the bookmarks panel, then choose More > Delete. Check the selected item first: Google says a bookmark deleted this way cannot be recovered through the documented feature.
Delete one synced bookmark on desktop
Chrome bookmarks can be saved to your Google Account and accessed on devices signed in to that account. For a bookmark you want removed from the synced account, do the deletion in Chrome while signed in to the relevant account. Google’s help pages do not specify how quickly a change appears on other devices.
- Open Chrome on a computer and confirm that you are signed in to the Google Account associated with the bookmark.
- Select More (the three-dot menu) > Bookmarks and lists > Bookmark Manager.
- Find the specific bookmark. Open its More menu and select Delete.
- Verify that the title belongs to the bookmark you intend to remove before deleting it.

Use the bookmarks panel instead

- Select More > Bookmarks and lists > Show all bookmarks.
- Hover over the bookmark you want to remove, open More, then select Delete.
- Check the item before proceeding, especially if you are near a folder or a similarly named bookmark.
Google documents this alternate route in the same bookmark help page.
Before deleting a bookmark or folder
- Confirm the selection. Google warns that after you delete a bookmark, you cannot get it back through this feature.
- Consider exporting a copy first. Google mentions bookmark export in its help about account and sync settings. Exporting can preserve a copy, but it does not automatically restore a deleted bookmark.
- Distinguish bookmarks from other synced data. Deleting a bookmark is a bookmark action; it does not by itself delete separately listed data such as passwords or browsing history.

What Android users should know
On Android, Google’s help page says you can find bookmarks from Chrome’s More menu > Bookmarks and manage account settings for what information is saved and synced. The page does not document the exact Android bookmark-deletion sequence, so do not assume the desktop menus apply. Consult the current Android Chrome interface or an Android-specific instruction before deleting. See Google’s Android account and sync help.
