Dazz announced a $50 million financing round on July 24, 2024, to expand its AI-powered security remediation platform. Greylock co-led the round, with Cyberstarts, Insight Partners, and Index Ventures participating; Dazz said the financing brought its total funding to $110 million. Wiz announced it would acquire Dazz in November 2024, though the deal value was reported by TechCrunch rather than disclosed by Wiz.

What Dazz announced in July 2024

Dazz’s July 24, 2024 announcement said Greylock co-led its $50 million financing round. Cyberstarts, Insight Partners, and Index Ventures also participated. The company said the round brought cumulative funding to $110 million. SecurityWeek also reported the $110 million total.

Dazz did not disclose a valuation. TechCrunch reported that people close to the company put its post-money valuation just below $400 million; that estimate came from unnamed sources, not a company statement.

What problem was Dazz trying to solve?

Security tools can surface vulnerabilities across an organization’s code, cloud services, applications, and infrastructure, but a finding alone does not tell a team what to fix first or how to resolve it. Security teams must assess risk, find the underlying cause, and coordinate work with engineers—often amid large volumes of alerts.

Dazz framed its product around that gap between detection and remediation. Detection tools identify potential problems; remediation software is intended to help teams prioritize findings, trace them to root causes, assign work, and resolve them.

How Dazz described its platform

Dazz called its product a Unified Remediation Platform. The company said it connected security findings across code, cloud, applications, and infrastructure, using AI, automation, and root-cause analysis to help security and engineering teams prioritize and fix risks. TechCrunch’s July 2024 description said the workflow could consolidate vulnerabilities from different cloud architectures and environments, distinguish issues tied to active engineering work from dormant ones, and help teams address them.

Dazz’s July release named BHG Financial, Healthfirst, TaxSlayer, iCapital, and Abnormal Security as customers. The company also described activity in financial services, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, technology, retail, and manufacturing. These are company-issued customer and sector claims, not independently audited customer evidence.

What performance figures did Dazz report?

In its July 2024 announcement, Dazz said customers had found 1.2 billion vulnerabilities and resolved close to 500 million issues at root causes using its platform. Those are company-reported usage figures, not independently verified measures of risk reduction.

The company also reported a 400 percent increase in annual recurring revenue (ARR) from FY2023 to FY2024. That figure is Dazz’s reported growth claim, not an audited financial result. TechCrunch separately characterized the company’s revenue growth as above 400 percent over the prior year.

CEO Merav Bahat told TechCrunch that Dazz’s approach could raise remediation from a historical 10 percent to 50–80 percent. The comparison is her claim; the report did not provide an independently published test, methodology, or defined baseline that would establish it as a general result.

Why Wiz acquired Dazz

On November 21, 2024, Wiz announced it would acquire Dazz. Wiz described Dazz’s technology as mapping root issues so engineers could address code vulnerabilities while retaining cloud context. It said the combination would help correlate information from multiple sources and manage application risks on one platform. That was Wiz’s stated strategic rationale, not an independent assessment of product performance.

Wiz’s announcement did not state a purchase price. TechCrunch reported a $450 million cash-and-share value, citing people familiar with the matter. The publication also reported that Dazz would continue as a separate entity while being integrated into Wiz’s broader stack. Those details were attributed to TechCrunch’s sources, not confirmed in Wiz’s announcement.

What to consider when evaluating remediation software

Dazz’s funding and acquisition announcements highlight useful questions for evaluating this category, but the sources do not provide a controlled comparison of vendors:

  • Coverage: Which code, cloud, application, and infrastructure signals can the platform connect?
  • Prioritization and root-cause mapping: Can teams distinguish urgent, actionable problems from lower-priority findings and trace them to an underlying cause?
  • Engineering workflow: How does the tool hand off work to engineers and account for active development?
  • Automation: Which steps can it automate, and which still require human review?
  • Measurement: Can the organization track remediation time and resolution outcomes using a clearly defined baseline?

Wiz’s November announcement confirms the acquisition plan and its stated product strategy. It does not establish Dazz’s present-day standalone status, current product packaging, or the details and completion of integration.
