Darnell Washington caught a 21-yard fourth-quarter touchdown, but Pittsburgh lost to Cleveland 27–24. Washington finished with three catches on five targets for 27 yards and a score.
Washington’s stats against Cleveland
Washington recorded three receptions for 27 yards and one touchdown on five targets, according to RotoWire’s postgame report published October 2, 2026. The NFL.com game log lists the same reception, yardage, and touchdown totals, with a long catch of 21 yards.
How Washington scored
In the fourth quarter, Aaron Rodgers threw to Washington while moving, and the tight end caught the ball in the end zone for a 21-yard touchdown. The Steelers’ official recap says the score made it 21–16 with 10:10 remaining. Pittsburgh then failed on its two-point attempt. The team’s highlight archive also features the play as “Rodgers to Washington for the TD.”
Why the touchdown did not complete a comeback
Cleveland held on to beat Pittsburgh 27–24. Washington’s touchdown brought the Steelers within five points, but the failed two-point try left Pittsburgh needing another score to take the lead. The Steelers recap and NFL game log record the result as a three-point loss.

What the recent receiving numbers show
RotoWire reported that Washington had six catches for 94 yards and one touchdown over the two games preceding the Browns matchup. That is a short three-game window when combined with his Week 4 line, not evidence by itself of a lasting change in his role or a dependable week-to-week target share. The available game report lists five targets against Cleveland; it does not establish a broader trend in how often Pittsburgh will look his way.
