Dark Craft is an upcoming free-to-play MMO from Take Top Entertainment, advertised as a dark-fantasy open-world game with Souls-style combat. Steam still lists its release date as “To be announced,” so it is not available to play there yet. The “Minecraft” comparison comes from a Windows Central preview describing its blocky look—not from an official connection to Minecraft.
What is Dark Craft?
Dark Craft is a forthcoming online role-playing game that Take Top Entertainment describes as a free-to-play MMO. Its Steam listing advertises a grim fantasy setting with forests, abandoned villages, castles, dungeons, ruins, monsters, and other players. The game is listed for Windows PC.
Steam’s description says combat centers on timing, stamina management, and predicting opponents. It also advertises solo exploration, online co-op, PvP encounters, boss hunts, guilds, and loot. The listing says players lose some loot on defeat. These are publisher claims about a game that has not yet been released, not independently verified gameplay findings.

Why is it compared with Dark Souls and Minecraft?
The Dark Souls comparison
Souls-style combat is part of the official Steam description. That signals an emphasis on challenging encounters and deliberate combat, but it does not establish that Dark Craft shares Dark Souls’ specific systems, story, or world.

The Minecraft comparison
Windows Central’s Adam Hales used “Dark Souls meets Minecraft” in a December 8, 2025 preview, referring to the contrast between dark fantasy and a blocky visual style. Minecraft is not named as an influence in the Steam description, and there is no indication of an official crossover or affiliation. Read the comparison as shorthand for the look and broad genre mix, rather than a promise that Dark Craft plays like Minecraft.
What gameplay features are advertised?
Exploration, co-op, and PvP
The store listing presents an open world intended for solo exploration or group play. It also promotes boss fights, guilds, and player-versus-player encounters. Steam lists online co-op and online PvP as features.

These are planned features as presented by the developer; their operation has not been demonstrated by the sources available.

Steam describes Dark Craft as free to play and lists in-app purchases. It also flags chance-based in-game purchases, chat, and online interaction.
