The company says the workspace will exceed 600,000 square feet and is expected to open in 2027. That opening date is a projection, not a completed move, and the size and timing come from the company’s own announcement.

The announcement was made in a company release dated October 8, 2026, and the anniversary event was held at the firm’s existing Jubilee Hills office in Hyderabad.

The company’s release gives two concrete planning details for the new site. Both are statements made by D. E. Shaw India, and neither has been confirmed by an independent party.

How the new office fits Hyderabad’s history
Hyderabad is where D. E. Shaw India started, and the company has added space in the city in stages. Bengaluru and Gurugram were added later, and the company’s 2023 release said most of its India staff still worked in Hyderabad at that time. The anniversary event and the speakers
The release names three speakers. Quotations are reproduced as published in the October 2026 announcement, with each speaker’s role as the release gives it.
- Eddie Fishman, Managing Director and Executive Committee member, D. E. Shaw group: “Investing and technology have changed dramatically in 30 years, and the rigor and skills our D. E. Shaw India colleagues bring to the firm have helped us remain at the forefront.”
- D. Sridhar Babu, identified in the release as Telangana’s Minister for Information Technology, Electronics & Communications, Industries & Commerce: “My congratulations to D. E. Shaw India on thirty years in Hyderabad.”
- Chaitanya Gorrepati, Managing Director and D. E. Shaw India Operating Committee member: “Hyderabad is where D. E. Shaw India began, and 30 years on, it remains central to our story.”
Fishman also made a related statement in the company’s September 2022 release, when he was identified as a member of the D. E. Shaw group’s Executive Committee: “This new space underscores our continued investment in Hyderabad as a hub of innovation and top talent.” That statement dates from the Ivy building expansion, not the Neopolis plan.

Each number in the coverage carries a different date and scope, so it should be read with its qualifier.

- More than $115 billion in investment and committed capital: a group-level figure from D. E. Shaw, stated as of September 1, 2026, and included in the 2026 release. It is the company’s own measure. It should not be described as assets under management unless an independent source supports that description.

The Hyderabad address on the company’s contact page
The group’s contact page lists D. E. Shaw India at Plot No. 573, B & C, Road No. 1, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad 500 096. That address is the existing office. The page does not connect it to the Neopolis project, so readers looking for the new site should not treat the two addresses as the same location.
What the announcement does and does not establish
Business Standard ran the item labelled as a VMPL/ANI press release and noted that no Business Standard journalist was involved in creating it. It should be read as company-provided announcement material rather than independent reporting. What it establishes is that D. E. Shaw India has announced a Neopolis office of more than 600,000 square feet, with a 2027 opening expected. What it does not establish is that the office has opened, what it will cost, or how many staff will move there.
