Er is geen actuele, representatieve vergelijking die één crypto-app voor iPhone als de beste of veiligste in Nederland aanwijst. Kies daarom op controleerbare punten: staat de juiste aanbieder met de juiste dienst in het AFM-register, wat zijn de totale kosten, en past de app bij hoe u wilt kopen, bewaren of overboeken?
Controleer eerst of de aanbieder de juiste dienst mag leveren
Cryptoactivadienstverleners hebben in de EU een vergunning of notificatie nodig om hun diensten aan te bieden. Zoek de aanbieder op in het AFM-cryptopartijenregister en controleer niet alleen de naam, maar ook de juridische entiteit en de toegestane activiteiten. De registervermelding helpt vaststellen of de dienst die u wilt gebruiken binnen de toegestane reikwijdte valt.
Gebruik de actuele registerinformatie vlak voordat u zich aanmeldt: vergunningen, notificaties en diensten kunnen veranderen. Een ontbrekende vermelding is reden om nader te controleren, maar bewijst op zichzelf niet waarom de aanbieder ontbreekt of dat deze illegaal opereert. Oude DNB-registraties vielen onder een overgangsregeling die in Nederland op 30 juni 2025 eindigde; baseer uw keuze daarom niet op een oude VASP-lijst.
Toezicht op een aanbieder is niet hetzelfde als toezicht op de crypto zelf. De AFM schrijft: “Crypto’s – zoals Bitcoin en Ethereum – vallen niet onder het toezicht van de AFM.” Een vergunning is dus geen aanbeveling van de toezichthouder en voorkomt geen koersverlies. De AFM wijst er ook op dat DeFi en NFT’s grotendeels buiten of slechts beperkt onder toezicht blijven. Lees de uitleg van de AFM over crypto. Vergelijk de totale kosten, niet alleen de handelsprijs
De geraadpleegde officiële bronnen bevatten geen actuele tarieftabel waarmee Nederlandse platforms eerlijk onderling kunnen worden gerangschikt. Controleer de tarieven en voorwaarden rechtstreeks bij de aanbieder en reken de hele route door die u verwacht te gebruiken:
- Storten: controleer of een storting in euro’s kosten heeft en welke betaalmethoden beschikbaar zijn.
- Kopen of wisselen: kijk naar transactiekosten én naar het verschil tussen de koopprijs in de app en de marktprijs.
- Verkopen: controleer de kosten en prijsopbouw bij verkoop; die hoeven niet gelijk te zijn aan die bij aankoop.
- Opnemen: bekijk de kosten voor uitbetaling naar uw bank en voor overboeken van crypto naar een eigen wallet.
Vergelijk dezelfde handeling en hetzelfde bedrag bij de aanbieders die u overweegt. Een lage zichtbare handelsvergoeding zegt weinig als er ook kosten, prijsverschillen of beperkingen bij storten en opnemen gelden.

Beoordeel of de iPhone-app u helpt kiezen of u tot handelen aanzet
Controleer vóór gebruik welke functies de app prominent toont: bijvoorbeeld trending-lijsten, directe koopknoppen, pushmeldingen, tijdelijke promoties of aanbiedingen voor aanvullende diensten. Kijk of meldingen uit kunnen en of u makkelijk informatie over kosten en risico’s vindt voordat u een transactie bevestigt.

Het onderzoek was eind 2023 uitgevoerd en signaleerde onder meer korte transactiestappen, trending-tokenlijsten, pushberichten en opvallende aanbiedingen voor staking en lending. De onderzochte apps boden niet altijd voldoende context over die diensten en de risico’s. Dit is een bevinding over drie onderzochte apps, geen actuele controle van alle crypto-apps. Controleer welke diensten en bewaaropties u werkelijk nodig hebt
Koop en verkoop, crypto bewaren, overboeken, staking en lending zijn verschillende diensten. Controleer per functie of de aanbieder die aanbiedt, welke voorwaarden gelden en welke risico’s erbij horen. Kies geen platform alleen omdat de app meer diensten of munten toont: beschikbaarheid is veranderlijk en het aantal opties zegt niet of de dienst bij uw gebruik past.
Bewaren bij een aanbieder en zelfbeheer zijn twee verschillende keuzes. DNB vermeldt dat sommige brokers cryptoactiva voor klanten opslaan. Als u crypto op een platform laat staan, controleer dan de voorwaarden voor bewaring en opname. Een hardware wallet kan een optie zijn voor zelfbeheer, maar is geen vereiste om een platformapp te gebruiken. Die wallet beveiligt niet automatisch uw platformaccount en neemt koers- of activarisico niet weg.

Maak de praktische iPhone-controle vóór aanmelding
De iOS-functies, betaalmethoden en ondersteunde cryptoactiva zijn niet platform voor platform actueel vergeleken. Verifieer daarom bij elke aanbieder zelf:
- of de iPhone-app beschikbaar is voor uw toestel en iOS-versie;
- of u euro’s kunt storten en opnemen via een voor u bruikbare methode;
- hoe identiteitscontrole verloopt en welke informatie daarvoor nodig is;
- of de cryptoactiva die u zoekt beschikbaar zijn, en of u ze kunt opnemen naar een eigen wallet;
- of u pushmeldingen en promotionele berichten kunt beheren.
Houd rekening met gegevensrapportage en belastinginformatie
DAC8/CARF brengt rapportageverplichtingen voor rapporterende aanbieders mee. Volgens de Belastingdienst moeten zij vanaf 1 januari 2026 klant- en transactiegegevens bijhouden en deze uiterlijk 31 januari 2027 aanleveren. De Belastingdienstpagina met deze informatie is bijgewerkt op 28 mei 2026. Dit beschrijft rapportage door aanbieders en is geen individueel belastingadvies; raadpleeg voor uw eigen aangifte de actuele informatie van de Belastingdienst over gegevensaanlevering door cryptoaanbieders.

Een korte keuzecheck
- Zoek de juridische entiteit op in het AFM-register en controleer of de gewenste dienst is toegestaan.
- Vergelijk de volledige kosten van storten, kopen, verkopen en opnemen voor uw eigen gebruik.
- Bekijk in de iPhone-app de meldingen, promoties en stappen naar transacties.
- Controleer apart de voorwaarden voor bewaren, overboeken en eventuele extra diensten.
- Bevestig beschikbaarheid, betaalmethoden en verificatie rechtstreeks bij de aanbieder voordat u een account opent.
De AFM noemt cryptoactiva zeer risicovol en adviseert u zich in producten te verdiepen en alleen te handelen met geld dat u kunt missen. Toezicht op een aanbieder verandert dat risico niet.
