Coyote vs. Acme is the Looney Tunes film Warner Bros. shelved in 2023, despite it being completed. After Ketchup Entertainment acquired it, the movie reached U.S. theaters on August 28, 2026. A ComicBook.com report published October 2 called it a streaming sensation after it became available to rent or buy digitally and reportedly topped an Apple Store chart. That points to transactional digital viewing—not confirmed availability on a subscription-streaming service.
What is Coyote vs. Acme about?
The film follows Wile E. Coyote as he takes ACME Corporation to court, arguing that its defective products are responsible for his repeated failures to catch the Road Runner. The premise brings Looney Tunes characters together with human characters. Warner Bros.’ official synopsis describes the case at the center of the story.

Why did Warner Bros. cancel the release?
Warner Bros. canceled the completed film’s release in 2023. The Associated Press and the Los Angeles Times report on the shelving and the movie’s later path back to release, but the available reporting here does not establish a definitive reason for the cancellation. It is more accurate to describe what happened than to attribute the decision to a specific motive.

Ketchup Entertainment later acquired the film and brought it back to theaters. Box Office Mojo lists Ketchup as its domestic distributor and August 28, 2026, as its U.S. release date.

What does “streaming sensation” mean in this case?
In its October 2, 2026 article, ComicBook.com reported that the film was available for digital rental or purchase and had reached the top spot on an Apple Store streaming chart. Those are the article’s dated claims; they have not been independently confirmed here. A chart position and a transactional rental or purchase listing do not, by themselves, show that a movie is included with a subscription service.
The distinction matters when deciding where to look:
Rank #2
- Grading Scale: Mint, Near Mint, Very Good, Fair & Poor
- Original Promo Movie Poster - Not a Reprint
- Posters come rolled in a plastic sleeve and shipped in a sturdy cardboard tube
- Posters are from Movie Studios and sizes are approximate.
- Poster is in Mint Condition
- Digital rental or purchase: A viewer pays to rent the film for a limited period or buy digital access through a storefront.
- Subscription streaming: A viewer watches under an existing service subscription, subject to that service’s catalog and regional availability.
The cited reporting supports the first category, not a confirmed subscription option. It also does not establish current availability in every country or confirm that the storefront listing remains active. Check the digital store available in your region for the current listing and terms.

How well did it perform?
ComicBook.com’s October 2026 article reported a worldwide box-office total of $40 million, a 96% critics score, and 94% audience approval on Rotten Tomatoes. These are figures from that article, not independently verified current totals or scores; box-office figures and review aggregates can change as reporting and ratings are updated.
