NVIDIA’s possible use of Intel’s Foveros packaging in the second half of 2028 is an analyst forecast, not a confirmed contract or product plan. Intel’s roadmap does include Foveros development into 2028, and Intel and NVIDIA have announced a product-development collaboration. Neither company has publicly confirmed that NVIDIA selected Foveros or will use it in H2 2028.
What the H2 2028 claim means
The claim is about a potential Intel foundry or advanced-packaging win involving NVIDIA. It should not be read as an announced order. The analyst and original report behind the specific H2 2028 prediction could not be verified in the available sources; a secondary report discusses possible packaging work but does not establish that NVIDIA chose Intel.
“Foundry business” can refer to different kinds of work. Wafer fabrication means manufacturing a chip on a semiconductor process. Advanced packaging joins dies or chiplets into a larger system. Foveros is a packaging technology, so a possible Foveros engagement would not by itself prove that Intel is fabricating NVIDIA’s processor wafers.

Intel describes Foveros as a way to connect specialized chip tiles into a multi-chip system. Its 2025 Form 10-K characterizes Foveros as a 3D die-stacking technology and identifies multiple variants. The filing says hybrid-bonding support for Foveros Direct is planned on Intel 18A-PT in 2028. That is an Intel roadmap statement, not confirmation of NVIDIA adoption or a specific H2 launch.

Intel’s July 29, 2026 overview of its New Mexico advanced-packaging facilities explains the manufacturing context. Intel manager Katie Prouty said, “Some of the customers are coming to us first for advanced packaging.” The comment illustrates Intel’s packaging business but does not identify NVIDIA as one of those customers.
What Intel and NVIDIA have announced
On September 18, 2025, Intel and NVIDIA announced a collaboration to develop multiple generations of custom data-center and PC products. The announcement confirms that the companies are working together on product development. It does not say that NVIDIA will use Intel Foundry, select Foveros, or adopt the technology in H2 2028.

That distinction matters: collaboration is evidence of a relationship, not evidence of a particular manufacturing award. No statement from NVIDIA in the sources reviewed confirms Foveros use or the forecast timing.

How to weigh the evidence
| Question | What is established | What is not established |
|---|---|---|
| Is Intel developing Foveros? | Yes. Intel describes Foveros variants and says Foveros Direct hybrid-bonding support on Intel 18A-PT is planned for 2028. | The roadmap does not identify NVIDIA as a customer. |
| Are Intel and NVIDIA collaborating? | Yes. Their September 2025 announcement covers multiple generations of custom data-center and PC products. | The announcement does not specify Foveros, an Intel Foundry order, or an H2 2028 adoption date. |
| Has NVIDIA selected Foveros for H2 2028? | The claim appears as an analyst forecast in secondary reporting. | The analyst’s identity and original report could not be verified in the sources reviewed; neither company confirmed the selection or timing. |
Intel’s foundry revenue is context, not proof of an NVIDIA win
Intel reported $5.8 billion in Intel Foundry revenue for Q2 2026, up 31% year over year, according to Intel. That figure is company-wide and does not name NVIDIA as a customer or show that the reported growth came from Foveros work.

- 6 Cores and 12 processing threads, bundled with the AMD Wraith Stealth cooler
- 4.2 GHz Max Boost, unlocked for overclocking, 19 MB cache, DDR4-3200 support
- For the advanced Socket AM4 platform
What would confirm the forecast
A company announcement naming the product, packaging technology, or manufacturing arrangement would substantiate an NVIDIA-specific award. In the absence of that, the defensible reading is narrower: Intel has a Foveros roadmap extending into 2028, and it has a product-development collaboration with NVIDIA, while the proposed NVIDIA use in H2 2028 remains unconfirmed.
