Can it heat a home in very cold weather?
Costway’s listing says the system can operate at outdoor temperatures as low as −13°F. That is useful as a stated operating boundary, but it does not show how much heat remains available at that temperature, how efficiently the unit operates, or whether supplemental heat would be needed. The listed 18,200 BTU heating figure should not be assumed to apply at the coldest outdoor condition.
Before choosing it as primary heat in a cold climate, request a capacity and efficiency performance table for the exact indoor and outdoor model numbers. Compare performance at temperatures relevant to your location, and ask your installer to assess whether the system can meet the calculated heating load.
