Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5 CUDIMM is a desktop memory line with catalogued kits ranging from 48GB at up to 9200 MT/s to a 96GB kit rated at 7000 MT/s. Those headline figures describe different kits, not one 96GB kit running at 9200 MT/s. Reaching the high rated speeds also depends on the processor, motherboard, BIOS, and an enabled Intel XMP 3.0 profile.

What is CUDIMM memory?

CUDIMM means Clocked Unbuffered Dual In-line Memory Module. Unlike a standard unbuffered DIMM, a CUDIMM adds a clock driver IC that regenerates and amplifies the clock signal. Corsair says this is intended to improve signal stability and synchronization at higher frequencies. Its December 3, 2024 announcement describes CUDIMM as a technology developed for high-performance computing and support for higher frequencies than standard UDIMMs.

The added clock driver does not by itself guarantee a particular speed in every PC. The processor, motherboard, firmware, and memory configuration determine which operating mode and profile are available.

Which capacities and speeds are listed?

Corsair’s catalog, accessed September 28, 2026, shows these examples. The capacity and speed at the top of the product family are not combined in every kit:

CORSAIR Vengeance DDR5 32GB (2 x 16GB) Up to 6000MHz AMD Intel RAM
  • Disclaimer: Maximum Speed requires overclocking/PC BIOS adjustments. Maximum speed and performance depend on system components, including motherboard and CPU
  • AMD EXPO & Intel XMP 3.0 Compatible Only: Dual memory profiles allow you to easily select optimized settings for your platform, whether you’re running an AMD or Intel processor
  • Onboard Voltage Regulation: Enables easier, more finely-tuned, and more stable overclocking through CORSAIR iCUE software than previous generation motherboard control
  • Maximum Bandwidth and Tight Response Times: Optimized for peak performance on the latest AMD and Intel DDR5 motherboards
  • Tightly Screened Memory: Carefully screened memory chips for extended overclocking potential

48GB (2 × 24GB) 9200 MT/s CL44
48GB (2 × 24GB) 8800 MT/s CL42
48GB (2 × 24GB) 8400 MT/s CL40
48GB (2 × 24GB) 8000 MT/s CL38
96GB (4 × 24GB) 7000 MT/s CL36

These are Corsair catalog specifications, not independent benchmark results; catalog variants can change. In particular, the listed 96GB configuration is 7000 MT/s CL36, while the 9200 MT/s CL44 example is a 48GB kit.

Will DDR5 CUDIMM work with your motherboard?

Compatibility has two distinct meanings: whether the memory can operate at all, and whether the platform can use its high-speed CUDIMM features. Corsair identifies Intel Core Ultra 200-series processors with Z890 motherboards as a platform for unlocking the kits’ full potential. It also says CUDIMMs can work with existing DDR5 architectures in Bypass mode, operating like traditional UDIMMs. That does not mean every older DDR5 system will support every kit or its rated XMP speed.

Corsair Support says that on earlier DDR5 platforms CUDIMMs operate only in Bypass mode, and base speeds may be lower than 6400 MHz depending on the platform. The figure is manufacturer guidance, not a measurement for every older system. Corsair advises checking the motherboard maker’s BIOS guidance because an update may be required for the system to boot with CUDIMM memory.

Check before buying or installing

  • Look up the exact kit number in the motherboard manufacturer’s memory support list.
  • Confirm support for the specific processor and motherboard combination, not just DDR5 in general.
  • Check the board maker’s BIOS notes for CUDIMM support and applicable updates.
  • Distinguish the kit’s default operating speed from its higher XMP profile speed.
  • Do not assume the rated maximum will work with every CPU, BIOS version, or number of populated memory slots; the manufacturer’s guidance does not establish universal results for those combinations.

How do you enable the advertised memory speed?

Corsair says the kits store performance frequencies and timings in Intel XMP 3.0 profiles. Using a selected profile requires enabling it in the motherboard BIOS; installing the memory alone does not ensure that the advertised profile is active. BIOS menu names and paths vary by motherboard, so consult the board manual rather than relying on a universal menu path.

  1. Install the kit according to the motherboard manual and check that the system recognizes the memory.
  2. Open the motherboard’s BIOS or UEFI setup and locate its memory overclocking or XMP controls.
  3. Select the appropriate Intel XMP 3.0 profile, save the change, and reboot.
  4. Check the resulting memory speed in BIOS or an appropriate system utility. If the PC does not boot reliably, return to BIOS and use the board maker’s recovery guidance or a supported lower setting.

How should you choose between the listed kits?

The most useful comparison is capacity versus rated transfer rate, considered alongside platform support and the workload. The catalogued 48GB kit offers the higher listed transfer rate; the 96GB kit offers twice the capacity but a lower rated speed. Corsair’s cited product materials do not provide independent application benchmarks showing which kit is faster for a particular task.

  • Choose by capacity first: decide whether 48GB is sufficient or whether your work benefits from the listed 96GB configuration.
  • Check platform headroom: a high XMP rating is useful only if the exact CPU, motherboard, and BIOS can support the profile.
  • Compare latency with context: the kits have different rated speeds and CAS latencies, so neither number alone establishes real-world performance.
  • Consider the extras: the RGB modules have a panoramic light bar and ten individually addressable LEDs. Corsair describes iCUE support for lighting synchronization, real-time frequency monitoring, and onboard voltage regulation.

What else does Corsair specify?

Corsair describes the modules as having a heatspreader and a limited lifetime warranty. Warranty terms can vary by region, so check Corsair’s applicable regional terms for exact coverage. Corsair’s December 2024 announcement directed buyers to its website or a local representative for current pricing; the cited product information does not establish present regional prices or inventory.
