Verdict: The Corsair Obsidian 750D remains a capable full-tower chassis when you need exceptional internal room, long graphics-card clearance and extensive radiator support. Its 560 × 235 × 546 mm footprint, nine expansion slots and 450 mm GPU limit accommodate hardware that challenges most mid-towers. However, the original case is now legacy stock, and its dated optical-bay layout, older front-panel connectivity and uncertain replacement-parts supply make condition and price critical.
What the Corsair 750D is
The 750D is a very large full-tower case built from aluminum and steel with an acrylic side window. It accepts Mini-ITX, MicroATX, ATX, E-ATX and XL-ATX motherboards, uses a standard ATX power supply and provides nine expansion slots. Corsair lists the Airflow Edition at 560 × 235 × 546 mm and 11.2 kg.
| Specification | 750D Airflow Edition or original documentation |
|---|---|
| Maximum graphics-card length | 450 mm |
| Maximum CPU-cooler height | 170 mm |
| Maximum PSU length | 220 mm |
| Expansion slots | 9 |
| Motherboard support | Mini-ITX, MicroATX, ATX, E-ATX and XL-ATX |
| Power supply | ATX format; not included |
Clearance figures come from Corsair’s product specification. Because listings can describe the original and Airflow revisions differently, confirm the exact revision before buying parts around a tight fit.

Yes, the Airflow Edition specification gives a maximum GPU length of 450 mm. That is enough for exceptionally long modern cards, but the stated maximum is a chassis clearance figure, not a guarantee for every front-fan, radiator or drive-cage arrangement. Measure the uninterrupted space in the specific configuration you plan to build, especially if a front radiator or cage occupies the same area.
#1 Best Overall

Cooling and radiator support
Radiator sizes
The 750D supports 120, 140, 240, 280 and 360 mm radiators. That range makes it suitable for large custom loops and 360 mm all-in-one coolers, subject to placement and component interference.
Airflow Edition layout
The Airflow Edition replaces a solid front with mesh and uses two 140 mm front intakes. Original 750D documentation lists three AF140L fans and up to eight fan positions; the exact fan complement depends on the revision and listing, so verify what is included rather than assuming every used case has the original fans.
Clearance trade-offs
TechPowerUp’s 2013 review praised the case’s water-cooling potential and overall sizing, while noting that a radiator can interfere with a 5.25-inch bay. Planning the radiator, front fans and optical-drive bays together is therefore important.

Drive capacity and installation
Corsair’s Airflow Edition specification lists six internal 3.5-inch bays and ten internal 2.5-inch bays. The drive cages are modular, and the original documentation describes tool-free drive installation, rubber-grommet cable routing and accessible dust filters.
- 3.5-inch storage: six internal bays on the Airflow Edition specification.
- 2.5-inch storage: ten internal positions on the Airflow Edition specification.
- Cage flexibility: cages can be removed or rearranged, but the number of cages that can be hung in particular positions is limited.
- External optical storage: there is no external 3.5-inch drive bay.
TechPowerUp identified the limited hanging-cage options and the visual effect of filling a 5.25-inch bay as practical compromises. If you need several hard-drive cages, check that all trays and brackets are present before purchase.

- Triple-Chamber Design – Superior cooling performance is possible due to isolated chambers for the most powerful hardware including CPU, GPU, and PSU
- Isolated CPU Cooling Chamber – Separate chamber on the front of the chassis holds a 360mm radiator for CPU cooling, ensuring none of the heat generated in the chamber affects other components
- GPU and Motherboard Chamber – The central chamber is designed to offer massive vertical airflow to cool all the components thoroughly and then exhaust the hot air out of the chassis
- PSU and storage chamber – A third chamber houses the power supply, storage, and cables, and it has its own dedicated intake and exhaust locations as well
- Airflow Ducts – An innovative duct on the bottom fan array in the main chamber accelerates airflow as it’s forced into a narrow channel. This increases airflow velocity without requiring increased fan speed, improving cooling power without added noise
Building and cable management
The full-tower interior leaves substantial working room around the motherboard and expansion slots. Rubber-grommeted routing openings and the large chassis volume make cable management easier than in a typical mid-tower. Tool-free drive mounting and removable filters also reduce routine maintenance effort.
The trade-off is physical size: at 235 mm wide and more than half a metre deep, the 750D needs substantial desk or floor space. Its 11.2 kg Airflow Edition weight is before installing a motherboard, graphics card, drives, radiator and power supply.

TechPowerUp’s 2013 review was strongly positive about the 750D’s space, cooling options, cable management, included fans and value. Its conclusion was that very little was wrong with the case. The same review specifically called out the lack of an external 3.5-inch drive, restrictions on hanging drive cages, radiator interference with a 5.25-inch bay and the appearance of a filled optical bay.
Those findings remain useful for judging the design, but the review is dated. It does not establish current noise performance with modern hardware, current pricing or present-day availability.
Is the Corsair 750D still worth buying?
| Choose the 750D when you need | Look elsewhere when you need |
|---|---|
| 450 mm graphics-card clearance and room for oversized components | A compact case or a small desk footprint |
| Support for 280/360 mm radiators and extensive fan layouts | Modern front-panel connectivity as standard |
| Many internal 3.5- and 2.5-inch drive positions | Guaranteed new replacement parts and current manufacturer support |
| A flexible legacy full tower at a favorable used price | A current warranty and predictable factory-stock condition |
For a clean, complete case priced well below a comparable current full tower, the 750D can still be a sensible platform. A newer model is usually the safer choice if USB-C front I/O, quieter contemporary airflow design, current dust-filter hardware or readily available replacement panels matter more than maximum volume.

Availability and what to inspect
PC Case Gear labels the original CC-9011035-WW listing “discontinued” and “out of stock.” Treat new-looking listings as legacy inventory and used listings as restoration projects until their contents and condition are confirmed. No authoritative current price or Corsair replacement-parts catalog is established here.
Before paying, request photographs of
- the acrylic side window for cracks, deep scratches or missing fasteners;
- front and top dust filters, including their frames and clips;
- all drive cages, trays and tool-free rails;
- fan screws and the included AF140L fans, if advertised;
- the front I/O panel and its cables;
- every motherboard standoff and mounting position.
Also confirm whether the listing is the original or Airflow Edition. Revision-specific specifications can differ, so do not rely on a generic 750D description for a close-clearance build.
Aftermarket and restoration considerations
Community reports have mentioned DEMCiflex-style magnetic filters and a historical USB 3.1 Type-C front-I/O upgrade kit. These are anecdotal references, not confirmation of current official support or merchant stock. Verify fit, connector compatibility and return terms before ordering any 750D-specific accessory.
Bottom line
The Corsair Obsidian 750D is still worthwhile for a spacious, radiator-friendly workstation or enthusiast build when you find a complete, undamaged example at an appropriate legacy-market price. Its 450 mm GPU clearance, broad motherboard support, large storage capacity and strong cable-management space are genuine strengths. Buy cautiously, because discontinued status, revision differences and missing cages or filters can erase the value of an otherwise excellent chassis.
