CorelDRAW में स्कूल का छात्र पहचान-पत्र बनाने के लिए पहले स्कूल और प्रिंटर से कार्ड का अंतिम आकार तय करें, फिर उसी आकार का कस्टम पेज बनाकर एक स्थिर मास्टर लेआउट तैयार करें। एक कार्ड के लिए विद्यार्थी की जानकारी सीधे भरें; कई कार्डों के लिए Print Merge से रिकॉर्ड के अनुसार विवरण बदलें। पूरा बैच छापने से पहले नमूने की जाँच और प्रिंटर की PDF, bleed तथा trimming संबंधी माँगें पक्की करें।
डिज़ाइन शुरू करने से पहले स्कूल की ज़रूरतें तय करें
स्कूल या प्रिंट प्रदाता से ये बातें लिखित रूप में लें। कार्ड का आकार और आउटपुट की शर्तें पहले तय करने से बाद में लेआउट दोबारा बनाने की ज़रूरत घटती है।
- तैयार कार्ड के आयाम और दिशा—portrait या landscape।
- स्कूल का लोगो, नाम और आवश्यक संपर्क या पहचान विवरण।
- छात्र के लिए स्वीकृत फ़ील्ड, जैसे नाम, कक्षा/सेक्शन और रोल या ID नंबर। कार्ड पर केवल वही व्यक्तिगत जानकारी रखें जिसे स्कूल ने मंज़ूरी दी है।
- फोटो का स्थान और आकार, हस्ताक्षर या वैधता की जगह, और कार्ड का एक तरफ़ा या दो तरफ़ा होना।
- प्रिंट प्रदाता की PDF, bleed, रंग, trimming और कार्ड सामग्री संबंधी आवश्यकताएँ।
एक हिंदी ट्यूटोरियल में उदाहरण के तौर पर 2.15 × 3.35 इंच का पेज दिखाया गया है; यह उस ट्यूटोरियल का चुनाव है, कोई सार्वभौमिक ID-card मानक नहीं। उस ट्यूटोरियल में दिखाया गया आकार तभी अपनाएँ जब स्कूल और प्रिंटर इसकी पुष्टि करें।
CorelDRAW में तय आकार का पेज बनाएं
- File > New से नया दस्तावेज़ खोलें।
- पेज के आकार में स्कूल या प्रिंटर से मिले तैयार कार्ड के आयाम दर्ज करें और सही orientation चुनें। CorelDRAW में कस्टम page dimensions और orientation सेट किए जा सकते हैं; CorelDRAW का page-layout मार्गदर्शन देखें।
- यदि कार्ड के दोनों पक्ष बनाने हैं, तो प्रिंटर से पूछें कि सामने और पीछे के लिए अलग पेज, अलग फ़ाइल या कोई अन्य व्यवस्था चाहिए।
पेज का आकार तैयार कार्ड के माप से मेल खाना चाहिए। Bleed अपने-आप न जोड़ें: मात्रा और निर्यात सेटिंग प्रिंट प्रदाता से तय करें। CorelDRAW में page size और bleed नियंत्रण उपलब्ध हैं, पर सही मान इस प्रिंट जॉब पर निर्भर करते हैं।

अंतिम फ़ाइल देने से पहले प्रिंटर से पुष्टि करें
निर्यात से पहले प्रदाता से पूछें कि उसे कौन-सा PDF विनिर्देश चाहिए, bleed कितना रखना है, रंग सेटिंग क्या होनी चाहिए और trimming कैसे होगी। कार्ड की सामग्री तथा एक या दोनों तरफ़ छपाई की व्यवस्था भी स्पष्ट करें। CorelDRAW में उपलब्ध नियंत्रण का सही उपयोग इन्हीं प्रिंट आवश्यकताओं के अनुसार तय करें—सिर्फ़ अनुमान से आउटपुट सेटिंग न चुनें।
