Humans First brought its data center activism tour to San Francisco on October 5, 2026, visiting the offices of Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Meta and Nvidia. The conservative-led group says it is not against AI or data centers; it wants host communities to have more say over projects, electricity costs and surveillance uses.
What happened in San Francisco
NBC News reporter Jared Perlo reported that the Humans First tour concluded in San Francisco on Monday, October 5, 2026. The group’s bus parked outside Anthropic’s downtown headquarters, where participants promoted their “AI Data Center Revolt” message. The tour also visited OpenAI, Google, Meta and Nvidia. NBC News report reproduced by KhanList.
Perlo’s account describes the cross-country campaign as covering more than 8,000 miles and making more than 35 community stops over five weeks. Those are reported figures; the route and stop count were not independently verified. The traveling party included Humans First chair Amy Kremer, her daughter and senior adviser Kylie Jane Kremer, other staff, security guards and their dog, Lovie.

Humans First was founded in 2026 as a left-right coalition and later became a conservative-only effort led by Amy Kremer, according to Perlo’s report. Its 13-point Data Center Policy is summarized as emphasizing three concerns:
#1 Best Overall
- Fanless compact PC: Thermal reference design, wider temperature support -20 ~ 60°C with 0.7m/s airflow
- Designed for industrial interfaces: 2* RJ-45 GbE(1 for POE-PSE 802.3 af); 1* RS-232/RS-422/RS-485; 4* DI/DO; 1* CAN; 3* USB3.2; 1* TPM2.0 (Module optional)
- Hybrid connectivity: Support 5G/4G/LTE/LoRaWAN/GPS(Module optional) with 1* Nano SIM card slot
- Flexible mounting: Desk, DIN rail, wall-mounting, VESA
- Certifications: FCC, CE, RoHS, UKCA
- Community control: Residents should have a meaningful role in data center planning.
- Electricity prices: The group objects to data centers driving up electricity costs.
- Surveillance: It rejects using U.S. data centers for unconstitutional surveillance.
The report does not reproduce the entire 13-point policy, so these points should not be read as a complete list of its provisions. Kylie Jane Kremer said the group is “not anti-AI,” “not anti-tech” and “not even anti-data center.” Its stated position is that AI development should include Americans and benefit the communities hosting the infrastructure.
Why the group says local communities should have a say
The campaign’s concern is about who bears the costs and who gets to decide where large data center projects are built. Amy Kremer argued that the technology is being imposed on people, saying, “This technology is being shoved down people’s throats,” and, “That’s not the American way.” Kylie Jane Kremer called for Big Tech to include the public and give it a seat at the table.

As an example, Amy Kremer cited a reported $25 billion in combined data center investment announced by Google and Amazon for projects over coming years in the Jonesburg, Missouri area, which the article describes as having 12,000 residents. Those figures are presented as Kremer’s example in the report and were not independently verified. The account does not establish what the investment would mean for residents’ electricity bills or local decision-making.
Some discussion at the tour reportedly broadened into existential concerns about AI. The account provides no polling or attendance-level evidence showing how widespread those views were, so they should not be treated as representative of the group’s supporters or the public at large.

- EXACT-MATCH UPGRADE — 64GB (4X16GB) kit DDR5-5600 (PC5-44800), 1Rx8 Registered ECC, 1.1V, CL46, 288-pin. The precise rank, voltage, and timing your server's memory controller expects, so it's recognized at full capacity and runs at its rated speed.
- VERIFIED FITMENT — Compatible with Emerald Rapids, Xeon Scalable, PowerEdge, ProLiant, ThinkSystem, Supermicro. Spec-matched to your board's memory-population rules.
- ENTERPRISE STABILITY — Registered (buffered) architecture offloads the memory controller so every slot runs fully populated at full capacity, while ECC catches and corrects single-bit errors on the fly — stopping silent data corruption and unplanned reboots before they reach production.
- CHECK YOUR CONFIG — Server and motherboard memory support varies by model. Consult your system or motherboard manual for supported capacities, approved DIMM population order, and installation steps before purchase.
- LIFETIME SUPPORT — Backed by a lifetime replacement warranty and free US-based technical support.
What the San Francisco visits do—and do not—show
The visits documented an advocacy campaign and its message, not a change in company policy or a local planning outcome. Perlo’s report does not document a project delay, cancellation, vote or other decision resulting from the tour. Anthropic did not immediately respond to the reporter; the account gives no substantive responses from the other companies.
The available full account is a KhanList reproduction credited to NBC News reporter Jared Perlo. Its reported tour totals and investment example should be understood with those attribution limits; it does not provide an independently sourced route accounting or the complete text of the group’s policy.
