FSP’s S550 is the hybrid power supply unit showcased at Computex 2025. It combines a power-supply role with an uninterruptible power system (UPS) role, and FSP software can display AC output, DC output, and battery status. The announcement documents a showcase, not a retail launch.
What is the first hybrid power supply unit from Computex 2025?
It is FSP’s S550. EE Times described the unit as “the world’s first hybrid power supply and uninterruptible power system (UPS)” in a report credited to FSP technology on June 9, 2025. EE Times’ Computex report
Here, “hybrid” means the S550 brings power-supply and backup-power functions together in one product. FSP software can show the status of its AC and DC outputs as well as the battery. The report does not give the S550’s output rating, battery chemistry, transfer time, dimensions, or connector requirements, so those details cannot be inferred from the “S550” name.

It is presented as both: a power supply unit (PSU) and a UPS. A conventional PSU supplies power to a system; a UPS provides backup power when its normal supply is interrupted. FSP’s description of the S550 combines those roles, but the cited announcement does not provide enough technical detail to explain its switching behavior or backup runtime.

What can FSP software monitor?
The report says FSP software can display AC output status, DC output status, and battery status. It does not specify the software’s name, supported operating systems, whether readings are numerical or status-only, or how frequently the information updates.
Can you buy the FSP S550 hybrid UPS?
The June 9, 2025 report records a Computex showcase; it does not establish a retail launch, price, or stock availability. Check FSP’s current product information or an authorized seller for a confirmed listing before treating the S550 as available to buy.

The announcement also does not state the S550’s certifications, warranty, or price. Those are important buying details to confirm before comparing it with a standalone PSU or UPS.

Which other Computex power products are easy to confuse with it?
FSP’s other announcements and a separate Compuware announcement concerned different products; neither figure below describes the S550.

The Compuware unit is a separate enterprise-focused announcement, not the FSP S550. Its high wattage and liquid cooling should not be taken as evidence of the S550’s specifications.
