Colorlib Sidebar V07 is a free Bootstrap sidebar template published by Colorlib. Its official product page offers a live preview and a download, and labels the template CC BY 3.0. The page also contains conflicting dates, so treat the release date as unconfirmed. The page documents very little about the template’s technical details, so you will need to inspect the download yourself before building on it.
What the template is and how to get it
The official entry is titled “Colorlib Sidebar V07,” names Colorlib as the author, and describes the product as a Bootstrap sidebar template made by Colorlib. Use it to get a sense of the layout before downloading anything.
- Open the Colorlib product page for “Colorlib Sidebar V07” on the Colorlib website.
- Select the Preview link to view the template running as a live demo. Check it at a narrow browser width as well as a desktop width.
- Select the Download link. The download flow asks for an email address before the files are delivered.
- Unzip the package and keep a copy of the license file and any notices that came with it before you edit anything.

The product page labels the template as CC BY 3.0. CC BY is a Creative Commons license that generally requires attribution to the author when the work is reused. The page label is a summary, so read the full license text and any notices bundled in the download before reusing the template in a public project or a client site. If the package and the page disagree, follow the license text included in the package and contact Colorlib for clarification.
Why the dates on the page do not agree
The page shows three date signals that point in different directions:

What the official page does not document
The product entry does not state the following. Do not assume any of them until you have checked the files yourself:

- Browser compatibility.
- Customization instructions.
Bootstrap’s official 5.3 documentation includes an Offcanvas component, which is a common way to build sidebar-style navigation that slides in and out. That is general framework context. The Colorlib page does not say that V07 uses Offcanvas or Bootstrap 5.3.

How to check the download before you use it
- Bootstrap version: open the HTML file and look at the Bootstrap stylesheet or script link. The version appears in the file path or CDN URL.
- Dependencies: list any JavaScript libraries, icon fonts, or images the pages load, and confirm that each one is included in the package or served from a source you trust.
- Responsive behavior: resize the preview from desktop width to phone width and confirm that the sidebar collapses or moves as you expect.
- Keyboard access: tab through the navigation links to confirm that focus moves in a logical order and that every link can be reached without a mouse.
- License files: confirm that the package includes the CC BY 3.0 text or a notice that points to it, and note any third-party assets with separate terms.
These checks take little time and reveal the details the product page leaves out. Record the results in your project notes so that future updates can be compared against them.
Reuse and attribution
Because the page labels the template CC BY 3.0, keep the author credit with the template when you reuse it. Place the credit where your site’s footer or documentation normally carries third-party attribution. Do not remove existing notices from the files, even if you rewrite the markup.
