Colorful’s COLORFIRE B650M-MEOW WIFI is a micro-ATX motherboard for AMD’s AM5 platform, with support listed for Ryzen 7000, 8000 and 9000 processors. Its headline features include two PCIe 5.0 x4 M.2 slots, four DDR5 memory slots, Wi-Fi 6 and 2.5Gb Ethernet. It was announced in late 2024; buyers pairing it with a newer Ryzen CPU should confirm the board’s BIOS version before purchase.
What Colorful launched
Colorful introduced the B650M-MEOW WIFI as part of its COLORFIRE MEOW series, a line distinguished by orange, cat-themed styling. Hardware Busters published a launch report on December 4, 2024; CyberMedia_TH’s specification reproduction is dated November 25, 2024. The announcement positions the board for Ryzen 9000-era systems, but its specification also lists Ryzen 7000 and 8000 support.
The design includes frost cooling armor and lighting features controlled through Colorful’s iGame Center software. The board’s appearance is a product differentiator; the available specifications do not establish comparative gaming or compute performance.

Ryzen 9000 compatibility depends on BIOS readiness
The published CPU list includes Ryzen 9000, so the board is specified for that processor generation. However, the specification warns that some CPU support may require a BIOS update. A listing that says “AM5” or “Ryzen 9000 compatible” does not, by itself, confirm that the individual board in the box has a suitable BIOS installed.

Before ordering, ask the seller which BIOS revision is shipped and whether the board has been updated for the exact processor you plan to use. Colorful lists a one-click BIOS upgrade feature, but the available product information does not identify a BIOS version or explain the update process in enough detail to assume that every unit can be updated without a supported CPU. If the board arrives with an older BIOS, follow Colorful’s instructions for the specific board revision or contact the seller or manufacturer for support.
DDR5 capacity and EXPO support
The published specification lists four DDR5 DIMM slots, dual-channel memory, EXPO and XMP support, a maximum capacity of 192GB, and overclocked memory support up to DDR5-7600. The speed is an overclocked ceiling, not a guarantee for every processor or memory kit: achievable settings depend on the CPU’s memory controller, the number and arrangement of DIMMs, and the kit itself. Check the kit’s compatibility and the board’s current memory-support information before choosing a configuration.

The cited specifications do not give exact USB port counts or display-output versions, so check the rear-I/O layout if those details affect a planned setup.

Case fit and build planning
At 245 × 245 mm, the B650M-MEOW WIFI is a micro-ATX board. Confirm that a case supports a 245 mm square micro-ATX motherboard and that the case has the clearances needed for the chosen cooler, graphics card, drives and cables. Micro-ATX describes the board’s form factor; it does not guarantee that every compact case will accommodate the rest of a particular build.
For a parts list, plan around an AM5 processor, DDR5 memory and the desired M.2 or SATA drives. If selecting an EXPO kit or PCIe 5.0 NVMe SSD, verify the exact configuration and compatibility rather than treating support for the interface or profile as a guarantee of a particular speed.

How to assess it against other B650 micro-ATX boards
For a practical comparison, weigh the board’s features against your specific build rather than judging it by its themed design or headline specifications alone:
- CPU and BIOS: confirm support for your exact Ryzen model and the BIOS revision on the unit being sold.
- Memory: compare DIMM count, supported capacity and overclocked speed, while accounting for CPU and memory-kit limits.
- Storage: compare the number and generation of M.2 slots, SATA ports and any lane-sharing rules in the manual.
- I/O and networking: check the exact rear USB and display-port layout, wired-network speed, Wi-Fi generation and Bluetooth version.
- Power and cooling: compare the published VRM design and heatsink arrangement, but do not treat component counts as independent proof of performance or reliability.
- Ownership: compare regional warranty, seller reliability, price and firmware support alongside the features.
Colorful’s product page describes the board’s design and hardware, but no independent benchmark, reliability test or measured thermal result is established in the cited material. Colorful also states that “200 processes are strictly tested”; that is a manufacturer claim, not an independent test result.
