Deliveroo and Coco Robotics announced on 5 October 2026 that Coco robot deliveries are planned to start in London’s Canary Wharf during October. The announcement does not confirm that the service was already live as of 7 October, so customers should check Deliveroo for current availability.
What Deliveroo and Coco announced
The companies announced an exclusive UK partnership, with Canary Wharf as the first planned area. Canary Wharf Group describes the Canary Wharf deployment as a 12-month trial. The partners say the rollout is intended to add a delivery option for short urban trips alongside Deliveroo’s rider network; Deliveroo says most orders will continue to be delivered by riders. The announcement does not quantify any effect on rider work or order volumes. Deliveroo’s announcement and Canary Wharf Group’s release describe the plan.
After Canary Wharf, the announced sequence names Milton Keynes, Leeds, Stockton-on-Tees and Nottingham for the coming weeks and months. No exact start dates for those locations were given. Coco describes the UK rollout as its UK debut. Coco’s announcement also confirms the planned expansion.
Which Canary Wharf merchants are named?
The initial merchant examples named by the partners are Patty&Bun, bakery Signorelli, and Beam in Wood Wharf. The announcements do not guarantee that every location or menu item from those businesses will be eligible. Customers should check the Deliveroo app for participating merchants and robot-delivery availability at their address.

How a Coco robot delivery is supposed to work
The companies describe Coco units as fully electric robots that travel at walking pace on pavements, using onboard sensors, cameras and AI-driven navigation. Coco says its system processes environmental data onboard rather than relying on cloud connectivity. The partnership says routes and speed policies will be specific to local conditions, with phased deployment and supervising operators trained in local rules and street conditions. These are the partners’ descriptions; their launch materials do not provide independent performance testing. Deliveroo’s release explains the stated operating approach.

The partners also describe local depots and charging facilities, and say operations, maintenance and logistics roles are planned. The launch materials do not report measured accessibility outcomes or a job count. The partnership announcement outlines these arrangements.
The releases use qualitative language about zero-emission deliveries and reducing urban congestion, but do not provide measurements, a comparison method or quantified results. They therefore do not establish how much the service will change emissions or traffic.
