What the benchmark numbers show

There is no single Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 score that applies to every phone. Independent results come from tested devices and can reflect differences in handset design, software, memory, cooling, and the benchmark sample.

Qualcomm’s claimed gains over Gen 3

Qualcomm says the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 delivers 11% improved CPU performance, up to 29% better GPU performance, and 12% power savings compared with the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3. Qualcomm’s product brief says results vary with OEM implementation and other factors. These are manufacturer-published comparisons; the official announcement and brief do not publish a benchmark-suite score or establish that independent controlled testing validates those percentages. How to compare phones using this chip

Use benchmark figures as one input, not as a substitute for evaluating the complete phone. When comparing two Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 devices, check that results use the same benchmark app and version, then look at the conditions behind them.

  • Compare the exact regional phone models; specifications and enabled features can differ by market.
  • Check memory configuration, software build, cooling, and whether the result reflects a short run or sustained performance.
  • Compare like with like: a Geekbench score cannot be directly compared with an AnTuTu total, and results from different benchmark versions may not be equivalent.
  • Consider price and other handset features alongside performance. The chipset brief alone cannot establish a phone’s overall value.

What the platform specifications do—and do not—guarantee

Features such as 2.9 Gbps peak 5G downlink, Wi-Fi 6E, 144 Hz FHD+ display support, and 200 MP capture describe platform capabilities. They do not guarantee a particular carrier speed, display refresh rate, camera resolution, or feature set in a retail phone. Antennas, camera sensors, screen choices, regional configurations, and software implementation are handset-level decisions. Qualcomm also notes its product materials may change without notice.

Launch context

When Qualcomm announced the platform on February 12, 2025, it said phones from realme, OPPO, and Honor were expected in the coming months. That was a launch-time expectation, not a statement of current availability. Check the specific phone maker’s regional product listing for a model’s actual chipset and specifications.
