The Samsung Galaxy M17e 5G has the edge in the two documented areas most likely to affect a long-term purchase: its display supports a 120Hz refresh rate, compared with 90Hz on the Galaxy F06 5G, and Samsung states six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates for the M17e, versus four generations and four years for the F06. The F06 launched at lower prices, but those launch prices do not establish which phone costs less today.

Which phone has the better display?
Both phones have the same listed display size, resolution, and panel family. The M17e’s stated maximum refresh rate is 120Hz, against 90Hz for the F06. A higher refresh rate can make supported scrolling and animation appear smoother, but these specifications alone do not prove that one screen has better brightness, color, or overall image quality.

Are the cameras different?
Samsung lists the same camera resolutions on both models: a 50MP and 2MP rear-camera combination and an 8MP front camera. Matching megapixel counts do not establish matching image quality, and the available specifications do not provide a basis for naming a camera winner.

Which phone gets updates for longer?
Samsung states that the F06 receives four generations of OS upgrades and four years of security updates. For the M17e, Samsung states six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates. That is the clearer long-term advantage for the M17e; the stated generation and year counts should not be converted into a specific final update date without a confirmed schedule.

- Choose the M17e if the higher listed refresh rate and longer stated software-support period matter more to you, and its current price fits your budget.
- Consider the F06 if you find it at a meaningfully lower current price. Its launch price was lower, but the launch figures do not show its present-day value against the M17e.
- Do not choose based on camera resolution alone: both have the same listed camera megapixels, and those numbers are not comparative photo tests.
Samsung announced the M17e for sale through Samsung.com, Amazon, and selected retailers. Check local stock and verify the specific memory-and-storage variant at the seller; availability and live pricing can change.
