To check whether you have Amazon Prime, sign in to the Amazon account you want to verify, open Your Account, and select Prime Membership. Review the membership details and controls shown there; Amazon identifies this page as the place to verify Prime membership and make payments.
Check Prime status in your Amazon account
- Sign in to the Amazon account you want to check. If you use more than one account, check each one that could be connected to the payment method or benefits in question.
- Open Your Account and select Prime Membership.
- Review the membership information and any management controls displayed. Amazon does not specify one universal status label or screen layout for every account, so use the details on the page rather than looking for a particular phrase. Amazon’s membership verification guidance describes this account-page check.
Prime delivery, video, or music benefits can be clues, but they are not as definitive as checking the membership page on the account itself. Available benefits can also depend on the marketplace.

If a charge made you wonder whether you have Prime
Open your Amazon transaction history and compare the charge date and amount with the membership information on the account. Amazon says Prime membership payments can be monthly or annual, depending on the plan. Its U.S. help page lists statement descriptors such as “AMZ*Prime Shipping Club” and “AMAZON PRIME*A1B2C3D4Eamzn.com/bill”; treat these as clues to investigate, not proof that a particular account has Prime. Distinguish Prime membership from other Amazon subscriptions
A charge for a Prime Video channel or another digital subscription does not by itself mean the account has a Prime membership. These services can renew separately, and a Prime Video subscription may be billed on a different day from a Prime membership. Check the charge against both the account’s membership page and its transaction details. Amazon’s Prime Video help page explains unknown Prime Video charges.

Investigate charges that still do not match
If you cannot explain a charge, Amazon recommends reviewing transaction history. Other possibilities include another person with access to the card, an additional card, a back-ordered or preordered item, or a gift order. A charge on a shared payment method does not establish which Amazon account or service generated it.
Handle membership messages safely
If an unexpected email or call says your Prime membership has a problem or must be reinstated, do not use the message or caller’s instructions to verify your status. Go directly to Amazon’s website or app, check Your Account > Prime Membership, and review the Message Center for authentic Amazon emails. Amazon warns that membership-fee scams may pressure people to provide payment or bank information, and says it will never ask for payment information for products or services over the phone. What this check can—and cannot—tell you
The account page confirms membership for the account you are signed into; it does not, on its own, identify the source of every unfamiliar card charge. If the membership page does not explain a transaction, check the transaction history and compare the service, date, and amount. The official account and billing guidance cited here is for Amazon’s U.S. marketplace in English; labels, benefits, and plan terms may vary by marketplace and can change.
