If by “spoof device” you mean changing the Android device model an app sees, a September 8, 2026 guide describes doing it without root through Shizuku Plus. The setting is called “Spoof Device Identity,” but the feature is experimental and does not promise to change every identifier or work with every app. It is different from GPS spoofing, which changes a reported location rather than a device model.
What “spoof device” means in this method
The procedure described by DroidWin’s September 8, 2026 guide is specifically about selecting a target device model through Shizuku Plus on an Android handset. It is not a universal way to alter every device identifier, and the cited guide does not establish that it evades app security or device-integrity checks.
GPS spoofing and mock-location setups are separate tasks: they concern location data, not the model an app reports. MITRE documents location and geofencing behaviors separately in its mobile security reference.
How the Shizuku Plus procedure is described
The guide identifies Shizuku Plus as a fork of Shizuku, itself a fork of the official Shizuku app, and says it uses a different package name. These are claims in that guide; its current distribution and the app were not independently verified here. Follow the app labels below only if you have obtained software from a source you trust.

- Install and set up Shizuku Plus.
- Open the app’s settings, tap About, then tap Version seven times to reveal Developer Options.
- In Developer Options, enable Spoof Device Identity.
- Select a Target Device.
The guide does not provide a complete supported-device list, specify supported Android versions, or establish which persistent identifiers the setting changes. Do not infer those details from the setting’s name.
What to expect—and what not to assume
The guide’s author, Sadique Hassan, reports mixed results: the setting helped install apps intended specifically for Google devices on a OnePlus, but did not enable installation of several other Google apps. The guide also describes the feature as experimental. This is one author’s reported outcome, not a guarantee for another handset or app.

- An app may use checks beyond the model name, so changing the reported model may not affect its decision.
- The sources do not establish whether a particular app will accept the changed identity, or whether it will interact with integrity checks, eligibility rules, or service policies in a specific way.
- Review the app’s requested permissions and consider the risks before changing settings on a personal handset.
When an emulator is a better testing route
If your goal is to see how an app behaves in different software configurations, rather than change what a physical phone reports, Android’s official Android Emulator documentation describes a software environment for running apps. An emulator is a testing option; it does not change the identity of your handset, nor does the documentation establish that every app will behave as it would on a particular physical device.
