For Pakistani families, the right choice depends first on seating and drivetrain: the Changan Oshan X7 is offered in five- and seven-seat versions, while Kia Lucky Motors lists the Sorento as a seven-seater with V6 front-wheel-drive and hybrid front- or all-wheel-drive options. Changan’s displayed X7 prices are lower, but the available Kia price information does not support a like-for-like price verdict. Compare the exact trims and get current written quotes before deciding.

The X7’s seat count depends on the trim: Comfort is listed as a seven-seater, and FutureSense is listed in both five- and seven-seat forms. Kia lists the Sorento as a seven-seater. Do not assume every X7 has a third row; confirm the quoted variant’s configuration.

Bring the child seats and, if possible, the passengers who will use the vehicle. Try installing the seats at the actual anchor points, then check third-row entry and exit, comfort, visibility and access to climate controls. With everyone aboard, see how much cargo room remains for the bags you normally carry. Changan lists ISOFIX anchors for the X7, but check the exact vehicle and child seat for a secure fit; do not infer Sorento compatibility from that listing.

What the powertrain options mean
Oshan X7: one listed petrol configuration
Changan lists a 1.5 L turbo engine producing 185 hp and 300 Nm, paired with front-wheel drive and a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission (DCT). The sourced specification does not list an all-wheel-drive X7 option.
Sorento: V6 or hybrid, with an AWD choice
Kia lists a 3.5 L V6 front-wheel-drive Sorento with an eight-speed automatic, and a 1.6 L turbo hybrid with a six-speed automatic in FWD or AWD. The manufacturer-stated figures are 269 hp and 331 Nm for the V6, and 238 hp and 367 Nm for the hybrid. Confirm which drivetrain and trim are available in the local vehicle being quoted.

These specifications alone do not establish which model uses less fuel or costs less to maintain. Choose based on the drivetrain and operating requirements that matter to your household, then seek evidence specific to the variants under consideration.
Compare safety and driver-assistance equipment by trim
Equipment varies across grades. Changan lists Forward Collision Warning (FCW) and automatic emergency braking (AEB) on the X7 FutureSense, not Comfort; FutureSense also lists radar cruise control. Kia describes collision-avoidance, lane-assistance, blind-spot and reverse-parking features, with differences by Sorento trim. Feature names on a model page are not a substitute for the specification of the exact vehicle on offer.

What the listed prices do—and do not—show
Changan’s Pakistan model page, accessed October 4, 2026, displays PKR 8,474,000 for the Oshan X7 Comfort 7-seat, PKR 8,949,000 for FutureSense 5-seat, and PKR 9,299,000 for FutureSense 7-seat. The page says freight and CVT are included and attaches limited-time, limited-quota terms. Treat these as conditional advertised prices, not a guarantee of the amount payable for a particular purchase. See Changan’s model page.
Kia’s price-list information says ex-factory prices exclude withholding tax, freight and insurance, but the indexed content available for this comparison did not show Sorento variant amounts. A reliable head-to-head price comparison therefore needs current quotes for the same city and date. Ask both dealers to itemize taxes, freight, insurance, delivery timing and any limited offer; compare the same seating and equipment needs rather than headline prices alone.
