The C SEED N1 is a real, motorized MicroLED television that rises from a sculptural base and unfolds into a giant screen. A 2024 report put the 165-inch model at $300,000, though that is a reported price—not a current fixed checkout price, and the “as much as a house” comparison depends on local home values. One important CES detail: C SEED identified its 2024 exhibit as the 137-inch model; 165 inches is the largest size in the current N1 line.
What was actually shown at CES 2024?
C SEED presented the N1 unfolding TV at CES in Las Vegas, held January 9–12, 2024. Its event announcement specifies that the exhibit was the 137-inch indoor model, not the 165-inch version in the headline. The current N1 product line is offered in 110-, 137-, and 165-inch sizes. C SEED’s CES announcement describes the set as folding back into its base when not in use.
How much does the 165-inch C SEED N1 cost?
Business Insider Japan reported in 2024 that the 165-inch model cost $300,000; its report also put the 137-inch model at about $200,000 and the 103-inch model at about $110,000. Separately, CE Pro listed an approximate U.S. MSRP of $184,214.65 in 2022 for an N1 range that included 103-, 137-, and 165-inch versions. These figures come from different sources, dates, and pricing contexts, so they are not interchangeable quotes for a current purchase. C SEED’s current product page does not show a fixed retail checkout price; it directs prospective buyers to configure the system or contact the company. The “costs as much as a house” line is therefore a comparison to reported six-figure pricing, not a claim that the TV matches the value of every home. Actual pricing depends on configuration and market.

How does the folding mechanism work?
The N1 begins as a sideboard-like base. Five MicroLED panels rise out of it and unfold into one screen; when the television is no longer in use, the panels retract into the base. C SEED’s CES announcement says it takes about 60 seconds to rise to full height, followed by another 25 seconds for the panels to unfold. Its current product page separately describes panel unfolding as taking 45 seconds. Those are timings published in different C SEED materials and should not be treated as a single standardized cycle time.
The screen can rotate up to 180 degrees. C SEED says its Adaptive Gap Calibration is designed to align the moving panels into a seamless image. That describes the company’s design claim; the available specifications do not establish a separate independent assessment of the image seam.

What should buyers weigh before choosing it?
The N1’s central appeal is not simply a large picture: it can conceal a 165-inch display inside furniture and transform the room when activated. That mechanism and architectural presence distinguish it from a conventional fixed television. The trade-off is that this is a heavy, bespoke system requiring more planning than an ordinary TV purchase.

- Electrical and AV planning: The listed 240 V supply option and 3.8 kW maximum consumption make electrical requirements worth confirming for the intended installation. Its three HDMI inputs are HDMI 2.0, not HDMI 2.1; check that source devices and the desired features are compatible.
- Sound and sources: Integrated speakers and a 200-watt subwoofer are specified, but the product information does not establish that every buyer will consider them a substitute for a separate home-theater system. The tuner is not included, and the system lists a dedicated media controller and smart-home integration among its features.
- Ownership and service: Ask C SEED or the selling integrator about delivery, commissioning, servicing, warranty, and how the moving panels are maintained. Those arrangements can materially affect the total installed cost; the published specifications alone do not provide a complete ownership quote.
Because C SEED lists HDMI 2.0 inputs, a compatible 4K HDMI 2.0 cable can connect source equipment, but it is not identified as included. Confirm cable requirements and supplied accessories with the seller. Given the weight, power planning, controller, and potential smart-home integration, a luxury home-theater or custom AV integrator is a practical route for installation planning.
