Cattle Country’s Bandits & Bounties update is out on console, including PS5, according to Playtonic’s October 5, 2026 announcement. It adds wanted-bandit hunts, camps in the wilderness, and surprise robberies and shootouts, alongside new crafting tools, inventory space, clothing options, and other changes.
What is Cattle Country?
Cattle Country is a cozy cowboy adventure and farming life sim developed by Castle Pixel and published by Playtonic Friends. It launched on May 27, 2025. Its frontier activities include farming, fishing, crafting, mining, ranching, relationships, and encounters with bandits; RPG elements are part of the mix, but the publisher describes it more broadly as a life sim.

The October 5 announcement confirms the update’s console release. The U.S. PlayStation Store lists the PS5 game, while Playtonic’s game page also lists a physical PS5 edition and links to Amazon UK. That listing does not establish current stock, price, or availability elsewhere.

What outlaw encounters does Bandits & Bounties add?
Bounty hunting
Collect wanted posters at the Sheriff’s building, track the named bandit into the wilderness, then return to Sheriff Tom to claim a reward.

- Buried Treasure. Did yer hear? There's treasure in the mines, for those who are brave enough to look for it. From precious metals and minerals to bandit stashes. Grab your pickaxe and venture out into the thrill of prospecting.
Bandit camps and business shootouts
Bandit camps can appear as you explore the overworld. Random robberies and shootouts can also break out at four businesses: the General Store, Butcher, Carpenter, and Bank. These encounters add sudden action to the game’s existing farming, crafting, mining, fishing, and social routines.
What new tools and customization are included?
- Toolbelt: Craft away from a crafting table.
- Extra Large Bag: Expand inventory to four rows.
- Animal Trap: Gather animal resources.
- Rock Tumbler: Break down rocks and potentially uncover rare gems.
- Tailoring Table: Make clothes and hats.
The update also adds outfits, hats, head accessories, and red hair as a customization option.

Where can players fish for fish from every season?
Take a boat from the docks to a special fishing spot on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Fish from every season can be caught there, making the destination useful when you are looking for a seasonal catch outside its usual time.
What else changed in the update?
Playtonic lists expanded NPC dialogue and fixes for controller crafting and cooking issues, skin-color display, a crash in a French-language scene, animal-resource collection, seasonal invitation mail, and building upgrades that were removed incorrectly. The publisher also notes further fixes and improvements, so this list should not be read as a complete account of every change or as confirmation that every historical bug is fixed.
