Cattle Country’s Bandits & Bounties update is now available on PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch, Playtonic announced on October 5, 2026. The update had already been announced for Steam on August 24. It adds bounty hunting, bandit encounters, new crafting and customization options, and a fishing destination.
Which platforms have the update?
Playtonic’s October 5, 2026 announcement confirms the update is out on PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch. Playtonic had previously announced its Steam release on August 24. The available announcements do not describe platform-specific feature or performance differences.

Cattle Country is a single-player Western farming and life sim developed by Castle Pixel and published by Playtonic Friends. It launched on May 27, 2025, and is listed for Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox. Its official description combines farming, mining, fishing, crafting, romance, cattle drives, and bandit-related adventure.

The update’s central new activity is tracking wanted bandits. Find a Wanted Poster at the Sheriff’s building, accept the bounty, search for the bandit in the wilderness, then return to Sheriff Tom for a reward. Bandit camps may also appear as you explore.

Robberies and shootouts can break out at the General Store, Butcher, Carpenter, or Bank, bringing encounters into the town as well as the wilderness. Playtonic’s announcement describes the bounty loop this way: “Pick up a bounty and head out into the wilderness to track down the wanted bandit.”
What else is included?
Crafting and inventory
- The Toolbelt lets you craft away from a crafting table.
- The Extra Large Bag expands inventory capacity to four rows.
- New homestead equipment includes an Animal Trap, Rock Tumbler, and Tailoring Table.
- Inventory counts can now display above 9,999.
Clothing and appearance
The Tailoring Table supports making clothing and hats. The update also adds outfits, head accessories, and the option to select red hair.

Fishing and other changes
On Tuesdays and Saturdays, you can take a boat from the docks to a special fishing destination with fish from every season. The publisher also says fishing is more forgiving when a fishing buff is active. Other additions include more NPC dialogue and birds that sway with tree branches.
Fixes listed by the publisher
Playtonic says the update fixes several issues, including controller problems in cooking and crafting, an incorrect skin-color display when switching between saves, a crash in a French-language character scene, and animal resources not being collected after heavy butchering. It also addresses winter scene invitations and shed, coop, or barn upgrades that could incorrectly remove multiple inventory items. The publisher notes that the update includes additional fixes and improvements beyond these examples.

Playtonic’s Cattle Country game page also offers physical editions for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5; the October announcement confirms the update is available on both consoles.
