The Casio G-SHOCK MUDMAN GDG-B100 pairs a memory-in-pixel (MIP) display and red automatic backlight with Bluetooth phone alerts and training features. It is a notable feature shift toward information-rich display and connected workouts, although Casio’s specifications do not establish that it is literally the biggest upgrade in MUDMAN history.
What is new on the MUDMAN GDG-B100?
Casio lists three versions: GDG-B100-1, GDG-B100-1A3, and GDG-B100-1A5. The family retains the MUDMAN focus on shock, dust, and mud resistance while adding a MIP LCD, Bluetooth smartphone linking, vibration alerts, step tracking, and training calculations. Casio describes a carbon-fiber-reinforced resin case structure and 20-bar water resistance. Casio’s GDG-B100 product page documents the lineup and features.

What does the MIP display add?
MIP means memory-in-pixel: the LCD uses pixels that retain their displayed state, allowing the watch to show time and measurement data in a more information-rich layout. Casio says the screen remains readable in bright outdoor spaces and direct sunlight. It is a manufacturer claim, not an independently measured comparison with another watch. An automatic red LED backlight is specified for low-light viewing. Casio describes the MIP display and backlight.

The watch connects by Bluetooth to the CASIO WATCHES app. Casio lists phone notifications for incoming calls, email, social posts, calendar notifications, and reminders, with vibration alerts. This is notification delivery rather than a messaging interface: Casio’s materials describe alerts, not replying to messages from the watch.

The app connection also supports automatic time adjustment, settings, world time, activity history, life-log information, and a phone finder. These additions make it a connected digital watch, not a full smartwatch interface. Details are listed on Casio’s international product page and the UK GDG-B100-1A5 listing.
What training features are included?
- Activity tracking: An accelerometer counts steps, and the watch calculates distance, speed, pace, and calories.
- Run records: Training data can store up to 100 runs, with lap-time memory.
- Timing: Stopwatch functions and an interval timer with up to five time settings are listed.
- Phone GPS correction: Distance can be corrected using GPS data from a paired smartphone. Casio does not specify a GPS receiver built into the watch.
These are listed capabilities, not independent accuracy results. Casio’s UK specification also lists training-target vibration alerts.

Casio’s UK listing identifies the GDG-B100-1A5 as a new October 2026 product. Its battery specification is an approximate estimate, not a measured result for every user or usage pattern. See the UK product specifications.

GDG-B100 or GW-9500: which MUDMAN fits your needs?
The GW-9500 is a useful point of comparison, but not a like-for-like test. Casio’s 2023 announcement describes it with a dual-layer LCD, digital compass, and barometer/altimeter functions. The GDG-B100’s feature emphasis is different: MIP display, phone connectivity and notifications, step tracking, and training data.

Price, colors, and availability
T3 reported on October 1, 2026 that UK pricing was £200, availability was expected from October, and the range would come in three outdoor-inspired colorways: black, dark green with orange accents, and a sand-colored strap with black bezel. This is launch reporting for the UK, not confirmation of current stock or pricing elsewhere. Casio UK identifies the GDG-B100-1A5 as a new October 2026 product; check regional Casio listings or retailers for current availability.
