Casey Jarvis birdied his final hole at Kingsbarns on Friday, October 2, to break a four-way tie and take a one-shot lead after the second round of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. The South African shot a 5-under 67, leaving him at 11-under 133, according to the Associated Press report republished by WKMG ClickOrlando.
How Jarvis took the lead
Jarvis made a two-putt birdie on his final hole at Kingsbarns. The late birdie separated him from a four-way deadlock and gave him sole possession of the lead after two rounds, the tournament’s official October 2 report said.
The Associated Press reported Jarvis’s Friday score as 5-under 67 and his 36-hole total as 11-under 133. Those figures describe the leaderboard after round two on October 2, not the championship’s final result.

The AP report listed three players one shot behind Jarvis: Rocco Repetto Taylor, M.J. Daffue and Matthew Jordan. Repetto Taylor had shot a 64 at Kingsbarns.

What Jarvis said about his form
Jarvis said he hoped the week would build confidence late in the season. He had recently played links courses at the Irish Open and the Nexo Championship at Aberdeen, and said he had not played particularly well at those events. He added that his finish at The Open had helped him believe he could compete on links courses.
The AP report also noted that Jarvis had won the Kenya Open and South African Open earlier in 2026.

How the Dunhill Links Championship works
The Alfred Dunhill Links Championship pairs professional golfers with amateurs and is played across Kingsbarns, St Andrews and Carnoustie. The AP report described a 54-hole cut. The tournament’s official event website says it has featured the world’s top players since 2001.

Jarvis’s one-shot advantage is the reported position after Friday’s second round. The event’s live leaderboard may show later scores, so it should be consulted for the current standings rather than treating the October 2 report as an update on the eventual outcome.
