The Canon imageCLASS LBP6030w is a compact, monochrome, print-only laser printer best considered today for an existing setup or a carefully checked used purchase: Canon lists it as discontinued and no longer available in the U.S. It offers wireless and USB printing, a small footprint, and a replaceable toner cartridge, but has no automatic duplexing, holds 150 sheets, and cannot print in color.
What the Canon imageCLASS LBP6030w is—and who it suits
This is a single-function monochrome laser printer intended for home and personal use, not an all-in-one: it prints, but does not scan or copy. Canon’s U.S. product listing says the model “is no longer available.” That makes its appeal depend on finding a sound unit and being able to obtain its consumables, rather than treating it as a current new-printer recommendation. Canon U.S. product listing
It is a plausible fit for a low-volume workflow that needs black-and-white documents and values a small printer with wireless and USB connections. It is a poor match if you need color, automatic two-sided printing, a large paper supply, or a current new model with established present-day software compatibility.

These are manufacturer specifications, not independent test results. Canon’s March 2025 brochure lists up to 19 pages per minute and 0.32 kWh typical energy consumption (TEC). Its manual lists up to 2.8 W standby and 1.6 W sleep on wireless; those power figures refer to different operating states. Printing, paper handling and connectivity
Speed and first-page time
Canon rates the printer at up to 19 pages per minute for one-sided letter plain paper. The product page states a first print in 8 seconds or less, while the manual gives about 7.8 seconds for letter printing under its specified test conditions. Treat both as manufacturer figures: settings, paper, and operating conditions can affect results. They do not establish how quickly a particular used printer will perform.
Wireless and USB
The LBP6030w supports 802.11 b/g/n wireless and Hi-Speed USB 2.0. Wireless printing depends on a compatible, working network; Canon cautions that performance may vary with terrain and distance between the printer and network clients. Canon Mobile Printing is also listed, and requires the Canon PRINT app. These specifications do not confirm compatibility with current versions of Windows, macOS, ChromeOS, or mobile operating systems. Check the documentation and support information for the exact device and software versions you plan to use before buying.
Rank #2
- Wireless, duplex printer (print-only)
- Fast print speeds up to 30 pages per minute (black and white)
- Print on-the-go with Canon PRINT app and more.
- Uses Canon GENUINE Toner 071 / 071 high-capacity
- Compact design fits almost anywhere in your home, great for home use and personal printing
Paper capacity and automatic duplexing
The cassette holds 150 sheets, with an approximately 100-sheet face-down output capacity; both figures are based on 20 lb paper. The supported sizes include letter and legal as well as A4, A5, B5, and executive. The printer has no automatic duplexing, so two-sided jobs require manual handling rather than an automatic print-and-flip cycle. These limits are manageable for occasional personal documents but less convenient for frequent, unattended, or high-volume printing.

Which toner does the LBP6030w use?
Canon specifies the black Cartridge 125, part number 3484B001AA, for an approximate yield of 1,600 pages under the ISO/IEC standard. That is a published approximate yield, not a guarantee for every user: coverage and printing patterns affect how many pages a cartridge produces. Confirm the cartridge number and printer variant when sourcing a replacement. Canon LBP6030w brochure

- Sold as 1 Each.
- Print from virtually anywhere with wireless connectivity.
- Seamless, easy-to-use functionality.
- Space-saving design.
- Paper replenishment is simple with the front-loading cassette.
The listed yield alone does not establish a current cost per page or whether genuine or replacement cartridges are available locally. For a used unit, check what toner is included and whether you can source the correct cartridge before committing to the printer.
What to check before buying a used LBP6030w
Because Canon lists the model as no longer available, evaluate the actual unit and your own workflow rather than relying on its original warranty or specifications as a promise about a second-hand printer. The following checks address the key purchase risks; they are not a substitute for inspecting and testing the specific unit.
Rank #4
- Wireless, monochrome duplex printer (print only)
- Print up to 35 pages per minute
- Uses Toner 072 / 072 high-capacity toner
- 250-sheet standard cassette
- Print on-the-go with Canon PRINT app, Apple Airprint, Mopria Print Service
- Condition: ask whether the printer can be demonstrated printing a page. The documented specifications do not establish the condition, reliability, or remaining life of an individual used unit.
- Toner: find out whether a cartridge is installed or included, and verify the Cartridge 125 number against the printer variant.
- Connection: determine whether you will print over USB or wireless, and verify that your intended devices and software versions can work with the printer before purchase.
- Workflow: make sure monochrome-only output, manual two-sided printing, and the 150-sheet input capacity fit your needs.
- Local supplies and service: check replacement-toner and parts availability in your area. Supply availability and repair prospects depend on the seller and market; Canon’s discontinued listing does not establish either for a particular buyer.
How it compares with the printer you need
Compare any alternative against the constraints that matter most for your work, not just headline print speed. The LBP6030w’s documented feature set points to these decision checks:
- Availability and condition: this model is discontinued in Canon’s U.S. listing, so compare a used unit with printers currently sold new and weigh the actual condition.
- Function and output: decide whether print-only monochrome is enough, or whether you need color, scanning, or copying.
- Connections and workflow: check for the USB or wireless setup you need, along with verified compatibility for your operating system and device versions.
- Paper handling: compare automatic duplexing and input capacity with how often you print multi-page or two-sided documents.
- Consumables: compare toner model, published yield, and current local replacement availability—not yield figures alone.
- Space and workload: compare physical size and your expected monthly volume with the printer’s stated limits and the alternatives’ specifications.
Canon’s support page provides product documentation, but its older named operating-system entries do not establish current compatibility. Verify the exact platform and version with Canon’s support materials before relying on this model for a present-day setup. Canon LBP6030w support page
