Usually, but it depends on the Shokz model. Shokz says OpenMove can be used in rain, while its OpenRun Pro FAQ cautions against prolonged continuous rain. OpenRun carries an IP67 rating, but Shokz does not recommend it for underwater swimming. Check the guidance for your exact model, and let wet charging contacts dry before charging.
Shokz rain resistance depends on the model
Shokz publishes different ingress-protection ratings and wet-use guidance across its headphones. Rain, sweat, and submersion are different exposures; a rating alone does not establish that a headphone is suitable for every one of them.
| Model | Rating in Shokz material | Shokz wet-use guidance |
|---|---|---|
| OpenRun | IP67, according to Shokz’s OpenRun FAQ. | Shokz says it is not recommended for underwater swimming. The FAQ describes the IP67 condition as placement under one meter of water for 30 minutes; that test condition is not a general-use promise. |
| OpenRun Pro | IP55, according to Shokz’s OpenRun Pro FAQ. | The FAQ warns that water might enter through the speakers during continual rain and advises against long exposure to rain or water. Shokz’s product page also promotes the rating for rainy runs and sweaty rides; read that alongside the FAQ’s caution. |
| OpenRun Pro 2 | IP55, in Shokz’s comparison material. | The cited comparison material provides the rating, but does not state a model-specific rain-duration instruction. |
| OpenMove | IP55, according to Shokz’s support and comparison material. | Shokz describes it as water-resistant, not waterproof, and says it can be used in rain and intense workouts. |
What to do for common wet-weather use
Walking or running in rain
For OpenMove, Shokz explicitly permits rain use. For OpenRun Pro, its product-page rainy-run wording comes with a more cautious FAQ warning about prolonged continuous rain, so avoid treating the marketing claim as unlimited protection. The cited guidance does not establish a universal safe rainfall intensity or exposure duration.

Sweat during a workout
Shokz says OpenMove can be used for intense workouts, and its OpenRun Pro product page mentions sweaty rides. These statements are model-specific; do not assume that another Shokz model has identical protection.

Swimming or underwater use
Do not infer swim suitability from OpenRun’s IP67 rating. Shokz says OpenRun is not recommended for underwater swimming, citing underwater pressure and Bluetooth not working underwater. The sources cited here do not establish that the other models are suitable for swimming either.
Dry the charging contacts before charging
If your headphones or charging port get wet, do not connect the charger while the contacts are still wet. Shokz’s OpenRun Pro FAQ advises wiping a wet port with soft tissue and waiting until it is dry enough before charging. Follow the instructions for your own model if they differ.

How to interpret IP55 and IP67
IP ratings identify protection against ingress under specified conditions; they do not by themselves define a safe amount of time in every real-world rainstorm or authorize submersion. In Shokz’s cited material, OpenRun is listed as IP67, while OpenRun Pro, OpenRun Pro 2, and OpenMove are listed as IP55. Treat those as manufacturer-reported model ratings, not independent real-world rain-test results.
Before using a different or newer Shokz model in wet conditions, look up its own current support guidance. Do not transfer one model’s rating or advice to another.
