Start by checking whether the show is available through a service in the Philippines. If you specifically need a US network’s website or a US subscription service, access depends on that service’s country rules; a VPN is not a reliable universal workaround. A September 2026 report found selected US network streams played through VPN connections, but Hulu and YouTube TV publish international restrictions, and the report did not find successful playback on Hulu, Peacock, or YouTube TV.
Check Philippine availability before trying to reach the US catalog
Streaming libraries are not necessarily the same in every country. A program may be available locally even if the US service that carries it is not, and a subscription that works at home may show a different catalog while you are abroad. Search the Philippine services you already use for the specific title before paying for another service or VPN.
Disney+ changes its catalog by location
Disney+ says travelers can stream content available in the country or region they are visiting. That means a Philippine account should not be assumed to show the US catalog while the viewer is in the Philippines. See Disney+ travel guidance.

Netflix says each country has its own licensed catalog. Its Philippine-language help page says that when Netflix detects a VPN, it hides the region and shows titles available globally; using a VPN may therefore narrow what you can see rather than unlock the US library. Read Netflix’s VPN guidance.

What a September 2026 VPN test reported
A Gizmodo report dated September 24, 2026 describes connecting NordVPN, Proton VPN, and ExpressVPN to Seattle servers, then opening network websites in a browser. The report says CBS, ABC, NBC, PBS, and Fox played on each VPN. It says Hulu, Peacock, and YouTube TV loaded sign-up pages instead of reporting successful viewing. Read the Gizmodo test report.
These are that publication’s reported observations, not independent results from this article or a guarantee of future access. The test does not establish that the same streams will work for every account, device, network, or later date. It also does not show that a VPN will unlock paid US services generally. Check a service’s own rules before subscribing or relying on a VPN for it.

Services that explicitly limit international access
Hulu
Hulu says its standard service is intended for members of a single US household and requires a US-issued payment method at signup. Hulu + Live TV subscribers cannot stream internationally. Hulu also states: “Hulu doesn’t work with anonymizers or proxy services.” That official limitation takes precedence over the reported network-stream results above; a VPN should not be treated as a supported way to watch Hulu from the Philippines. YouTube TV
YouTube TV says the service is available in the United States and that viewers cannot access programs while traveling internationally. Its domestic-travel guidance, including checks related to a home area, does not remove the international restriction. Read YouTube TV’s travel guidance.

Peacock

A streaming stick can make it easier to run supported apps on a television, but it does not change a service’s country rules or guarantee access to a US catalog. Amazon lists the Fire TV Stick Basic Edition as supported in the Philippines while cautioning that content availability varies by country and that some apps may not work in a new country. Confirm that the exact model and the app you want are available for your location before buying. Amazon’s Fire TV country support information and app and content availability guidance.

A practical way to decide
- Look up the program in Philippine catalogs. Check the services available to you locally and search for the exact title and season.
- Identify what kind of US access you need. A network website, an on-demand subscription, and a live-TV service can have different rules and outcomes.
- Read the service’s international policy. Hulu and YouTube TV explicitly limit international access; do not infer that a VPN test of network websites overrides those policies.
- Treat VPN playback reports as time-bound evidence. The September 2026 report is a snapshot of selected network streams and services, not a continuing-access promise.
- Check hardware and app compatibility separately. Confirm the specific streaming-device model and the app listing for the Philippines; compatible playback hardware does not establish subscription eligibility.
