No—not as a direct installation. Google’s Watch Face Designer (sometimes called a “Watch Face Generator”) creates Wear OS watch faces in Watch Face Format. Fitbit clock faces are selected and installed through the connected Fitbit device’s clock gallery in the Google Health app. Google’s documented export and installation paths do not include Fitbit, and there is no documented converter that turns a Wear OS face package into a Fitbit clock face.
You may be able to reuse the look as a static image if your particular Fitbit model offers a photo or custom-image face. That is a separate feature from installing an interactive watch-face package and must be verified for the exact model.
What “Google Watch Face Generator” means
Google’s official name for the Figma-based tool is Watch Face Designer. It is a no-code Figma plugin for designing and previewing watch faces intended for Wear OS. The plugin integrates with Google’s Watch Face Format (WFF), a declarative XML-based format for Wear OS faces.
Google’s announcement says the plugin works on devices running Wear OS 4 or higher. Its documented destinations are Wear OS-related: publishing through Google Play, opening the work in Android Studio, using Watch Face Studio, and previewing on a Wear OS device. Fitbit is not listed as an output or destination.

That distinction matters because a design file, a WFF face package and a flat image are different things. A WFF package can include time data, complications, animations, color states and other behavior. A PNG or JPEG only contains pixels. Fitbit’s gallery expects faces made for the Fitbit platform, not an arbitrary Wear OS package.
Why a Wear OS face cannot be installed directly on Fitbit
Wear OS and Fitbit use separate face ecosystems, package formats and delivery channels. Google’s Android Developers guidance calls Watch Face Format “the recommended way to create watch faces for Wear OS.” That recommendation governs Wear OS development; it does not describe a Fitbit-compatible format.
Google’s 2025 policy announcement set January 14, 2026 as the deadline for developers to migrate published Wear OS faces to Watch Face Format. The deadline is relevant to publishing on Wear OS, but it does not create a Fitbit conversion route. A face exported for Google Play, Android Studio or Watch Face Studio remains a Wear OS face unless a Fitbit-specific version is produced through Fitbit’s own supported tools and distribution process.

Wear OS and Fitbit workflows compared
| Aspect | Google Watch Face Designer | Fitbit clock-face workflow |
|---|---|---|
| Primary platform | Wear OS devices running Wear OS 4 or higher | The selected Fitbit device connected in Google Health |
| Face technology | Wear OS Watch Face Format, a declarative XML format | Faces offered for that Fitbit model in its Clocks gallery |
| Creation or delivery route | Figma plugin with export or handoff to Google Play, Android Studio or Watch Face Studio | Browse the device’s available faces and tap Install |
| Interactive package portability | Designed for Wear OS behavior and services | No documented installation of a Wear OS package |
| Availability control | Depends on Wear OS publishing and compatibility | Gallery contents can change; third-party faces may be removed |
The table describes two separate workflows rather than two versions of the same store. Selecting a face on one side does not make it appear on the other.
How Fitbit clock-face installation works
To install a face that Fitbit supports, use the connected-device controls in Google Health rather than trying to transfer a Wear OS design file.
- Open the Google Health app that is connected to your Fitbit.
- Open the page for the specific Fitbit device you want to customize.
- Choose Watch faces.
- Open the Clocks tab and browse the faces shown for that device.
- Select a face and tap Install.
- Wait for the app to finish applying the face, then check the device display.
The exact screens can differ by Fitbit family. Google’s help instructions include device-specific directions for the Sense and Versa families, so select the correct model before following any model-specific prompts. A face visible for one Fitbit is not automatically available for another.

If a face you remember is missing
Face availability is not permanent. Google notes that some third-party faces may disappear from the gallery, so a design can become unavailable even when the device and app are working normally. Check the current Clocks tab for the connected model instead of assuming that an older listing, screenshot or recommendation still applies.

If installation does not complete
- Confirm that Google Health is connected to the intended Fitbit, not another device saved in the account.
- Return to the device page and verify that you selected Watch faces and then Clocks, rather than a general app or accessory section.
- Try another face that is currently listed. If other faces install, the original listing may no longer be available or compatible.
- Check the exact model name before treating a face shown in a guide for Sense, Versa or another family as applicable to your device.
Can you use the design as a Fitbit wallpaper or photo face?
Possibly, but only when the particular Fitbit model exposes a supported photo or custom-image option. This is not the same as installing the interactive face generated by Watch Face Designer.
A static export from Figma has no live time, complication or animation behavior. If a Fitbit model accepts a personal image, the image may serve as a background or photo face while the Fitbit supplies whatever clock overlay its own feature supports. The available controls, image limits and layout options are model-dependent.
Google’s Pixel Watch documentation describes photo faces and lets Pixel Watch users adjust photos, colors, layouts and complications. Those instructions apply to Pixel Watch. They do not establish that every Fitbit supports photo faces, nor do they turn a Pixel Watch face into a Fitbit face. Check the connected Fitbit model’s own face options in Google Health before preparing artwork for this purpose.

- Whether the exact Fitbit model offers a photo, personal-image or custom-background face option.
- Where that option appears in the model’s current Watch faces or Clocks interface.
- Whether the Fitbit overlays time and other data in a fixed position that could cover important parts of your design.
- Whether the feature accepts one image, a set of images or only images selected from a phone gallery.
If the model does not expose an image option, a static export cannot be installed through the normal Fitbit clock gallery. In that case, the only supported choices are the faces currently offered for that device.

Why Pixel Watch instructions do not apply to Fitbit
Pixel Watch and Fitbit products may appear together in Google’s health ecosystem, but their face-management paths remain distinct. Pixel Watch faces are managed through the Pixel Watch app or the on-watch face gallery. Pixel Watch documentation can include photo, color, layout and complication controls that are not documented for Fitbit.
Therefore, seeing a “use your photo” option on Pixel Watch is not evidence that a Fitbit model has the same capability. Use the Fitbit device’s entry in Google Health and the options shown under Watch faces as the authority for that model.

Watch Face Format is not a universal standard
WFF is a Google-recommended format for Wear OS. It describes how a Wear OS face is structured and rendered, but it is not a cross-platform interchange format. Fitbit does not document WFF XML as an import format for its clock gallery.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Exporting from the designer is not conversion
Opening a design in Android Studio, Watch Face Studio or Google Play changes the Wear OS development or publishing route; it does not produce a Fitbit package. Renaming an exported file, copying XML to a phone or sideloading a Wear OS package cannot substitute for a Fitbit-supported face listing.

Interactive elements do not survive as a simple image
Complications, sensor data, taps, animations, battery behavior and adaptive layouts are functional parts of a watch face. Exporting a screenshot preserves only its appearance. If you pursue a photo-face option, expect the Fitbit to provide its own time and data overlays rather than reproducing the original Wear OS behavior.
A practical decision guide
You want the exact interactive face
Treat the answer as no unless a Fitbit-specific version is listed in the connected device’s Clocks gallery. A Wear OS export from Watch Face Designer is not documented as installable on Fitbit.
You want the same visual style
Export or recreate a flat image only after confirming that the exact Fitbit model supports a photo or custom-image face. Prepare the artwork around the Fitbit’s own overlay area and accept that Wear OS complications and interactions will not transfer.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
You want a face that is available immediately
Open Google Health, select the correct Fitbit, enter Watch faces and then Clocks, and choose from the current listings. This avoids relying on an old third-party listing that may have been removed.
You are choosing a platform for future designs
Decide first whether the target is Wear OS or Fitbit. Use Watch Face Designer and Watch Face Format for Wear OS work. For Fitbit, validate the model’s supported gallery and any Fitbit-specific development requirements before building the face. A single source design may inspire both versions, but each platform requires its own delivery path.
Common misconceptions
- “Google made both products, so the face must transfer.” Shared company ownership does not merge package formats or stores.
- “A Wear OS face in Google Play should appear in Fitbit’s gallery.” The galleries are separate, and Fitbit shows faces available for the connected model.
- “Watch Face Format means every watch can read it.” WFF is specified for Wear OS, not as a universal watch-face file type.
- “A Pixel Watch photo face proves Fitbit supports photos.” Pixel Watch instructions describe Pixel Watch features only.
- “If the face disappeared, the app is broken.” Third-party faces can be removed from the gallery, so availability itself can change.
Bottom line
Google Watch Face Designer targets Wear OS 4 or later and exports through Wear OS channels using Watch Face Format. Fitbit users install supported faces from the connected device’s Clocks tab in Google Health. No direct Wear OS-to-Fitbit package conversion or installation path is documented. Reusing a design as a static image is a separate, model-dependent possibility; verify that exact Fitbit’s face options before relying on it.
