No—not directly. Pokémon from the original Game Boy Advance versions of Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire cannot be sent straight to Pokémon HOME. The documented route starts with migration to a compatible Generation IV game, then depends on later games and Nintendo 3DS transfer services.

How the legacy transfer route works

Start with Pal Park

Nintendo’s Pokémon Platinum manual specifically describes migrating Pokémon from Ruby and Sapphire through Pal Park. It requires the National Pokédex in Platinum. This migration is one-way: once a Pokémon has moved out of the GBA game, it cannot be sent back to that game.

Continue through later games and transfer services

Pal Park is only the first bridge; it does not connect a GBA cartridge to Pokémon HOME. Nintendo’s compatibility list names Pokémon Black, White, Black Version 2 and White Version 2 as Poké Transporter source games, and lists Pokémon HOME as a Pokémon Bank destination. The Pokémon Bank page also describes Poké Transporter use with Omega Ruby, Alpha Sapphire, X and Y. Those are later 3DS games—not the original GBA Ruby and Sapphire.

Together, the official documentation establishes a multi-generation route involving compatible games and 3DS transfer software, with Pokémon Bank serving as the bridge to HOME. It does not document every intermediate transfer, game-specific unlock, or hardware combination in enough detail to provide a dependable complete walkthrough here. Check the requirements for each game in the route you plan to use; do not assume that every Pokémon can enter every later game.

What the Pokémon Bank-to-HOME transfer requires

Moving Pokémon from Bank to HOME requires Pokémon HOME Premium. In the 3DS transfer flow, HOME uses a moving key; Pokémon Support also describes a transfer option for someone without the 3DS in hand, provided the relevant Nintendo Account and Nintendo Network ID are linked. See Pokémon Support’s HOME connection information and Nintendo’s Pokémon HOME transfer instructions for those options. The move from Bank to HOME is one-way: Pokémon transferred to HOME cannot be returned to Bank or used with 3DS games.

Pokémon Bank’s announced end date matters

As of 7 October 2026, Pokémon Bank service is announced to end on 26 February 2027 at 03:00 UTC. Once the service ends, Bank-to-HOME transfers will no longer be possible, according to the Pokémon Bank service page. Pokémon Bank and Poké Transporter are also not currently available for download, so someone who never installed them may not be able to assemble this route through ordinary downloads. The deadline and download availability are time-sensitive; check the current official service information before making plans.

What this means if you still have the GBA game

Keep in mind that owning the original cartridge is only one part of the route. You also need compatible later games and hardware, plus access to the necessary legacy transfer apps and Pokémon Bank. If any required link in that chain is unavailable to you, the GBA Pokémon cannot be transferred to HOME by a direct alternative documented in the official compatibility information cited above.
