HostGator reseller hosting is not currently available to new customers. HostGator’s price chart says new sign-ups have stopped, although existing customers continue to receive support. So for prospective buyers, there is no new HostGator reseller plan to recommend; for current account holders, the decision is whether the service still makes sense at the account’s renewal price and resource level.
Can you sign up for HostGator reseller hosting now?
No, according to HostGator’s hosting price chart: reseller plans are no longer offered to new sign-ups, while existing customers continue to receive support. HostGator’s reseller landing page still contains plan and promotional language, but that conflicts with the explicit availability notice. Do not treat that page’s introductory offer as a currently purchasable new-customer plan. Existing customers should confirm the status and terms of their own account directly with HostGator.
What HostGator reseller hosting was designed to do
Reseller hosting lets a business buy hosting infrastructure and sell hosting to its own clients under its own brand. HostGator positioned the service for freelancers and agencies that already offer web design, development, or related work. The reseller handles the client relationship and sets their own service and pricing; the hosting provider supplies the underlying platform.

How the management tools work
HostGator’s documentation describes WHM as the management layer for multiple cPanel accounts. Its reseller WHM guide lists creating, deleting, and suspending accounts, as well as customizing hosting and control-panel branding. HostGator’s WHM explainer likewise describes using basic WHM to manage multiple cPanel accounts.
HostGator says resellers can adjust bandwidth or disk space through WHM, move to a higher tier, or order another package, as described in its bandwidth policy. These are documented capabilities, not independently tested performance or workflow results.

What the published legacy-plan prices mean
HostGator’s price chart lists regular USD prices for legacy reseller plans. They provide context for existing customers, not an available new-signup offer. The full selected term is billed upfront.

These regular prices and term totals are published by HostGator; the chart does not state a publication year. For a legacy account, use the renewal amount shown in your account rather than assuming the chart price is your exact current charge.
Rank #3
The reseller landing page says promotional rates apply only to the initial term and renew at the regular rate. It also describes a 30-day money-back guarantee for basic hosting fees, excluding domain registration and setup or additional-service fees. Because the landing page’s availability language conflicts with the price chart, confirm with HostGator whether any promotion or guarantee applies to a particular existing account before relying on it.
Is a legacy account worth keeping?
For an existing customer, compare the account’s actual renewal cost and upfront term commitment with the resources and client workload it supports. Then assess whether the account controls and branding are useful enough to justify the operating cost and the responsibility of supporting clients.
Rank #4
- Keep it under consideration if you already serve clients who want hosting under your brand and regularly use the centralized WHM controls.
- Reconsider the fit if the renewal bill is hard to justify against client revenue, the available resources no longer suit your workload, or you do not want to handle hosting support.
- Check the account before deciding for its renewal price, billing term, resource allocation, and available options for adjusting resources or moving to another package.
For any replacement reseller service, compare current new-customer availability, per-account limits, white-label controls, account creation and suspension, billing workflow, and renewal pricing. HostGator’s published legacy prices alone cannot establish whether a different provider is better value.
Reselling hosting is different from referring customers
With reseller hosting, you sell a hosting service under your own brand and manage the client relationship. A referral or affiliate arrangement instead directs customers to a provider’s own service in exchange for any commission offered under that program. HostGator distinguishes these models on its reseller page; do not assume its promotional referral language establishes current program terms or eligibility.
