It is not confirmed whether you can replay acts in Gears of War: E-Day to collect items you missed. Xbox confirms that the campaign has collectibles and an achievement for finding them all, but its achievement listing does not say whether replaying a completed section is possible or whether replay pickups count. Check the in-game Campaign chapter-select and collectible tracker before relying on replay as a way to complete the set.
What Xbox confirms about campaign collectibles
Xbox lists the achievement “Memories From E-Day” with the requirement: “Find all Collectibles in the Campaign (any difficulty).” The listing establishes the completion goal, but it does not explain how to recover an item missed during an earlier run. Xbox Wire’s achievement list provides no replay or collectible-persistence instructions.

Does replaying an act or chapter work?
As of October 3, 2026, the official sources available do not confirm whether completed acts or chapters can be selected again, or whether an item collected during a replay updates the campaign tracker and achievement. The Coalition’s July 31, 2026 gameplay update describes the campaign and its gameplay sandbox, but does not document replay rules.

Windows Central’s October 1, 2026 review-in-progress discusses finding collectibles and browsing them through menus. It does not report testing act replay or whether replayed pickups count, so it cannot establish that missed items are recoverable this way.
#1 Best Overall
- AN ORIGIN STORY BEGINS — Fight alongside Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago in the gripping origin story of Emergence Day, as the Locust Horde erupts from below.
- A DARKER, GRITTIER THREAT — Face reimagined enemies and a terrifying underground invasion that restores the fear, dread, and intensity at the heart of the Gears of War series.
- MULTIPLAYER EVOLVED — Battle in Horde Siege for large‑scale PvE action or prove your skill in refined Versus PvP with greater precision and competitive depth.
- CLASSIC COMBAT, MODERNIZED — Experience signature cover‑based gameplay enhanced with updated movement, traversal, and controls that feel like Gears while playing like something new.
- CO‑OP YOUR WAY — Play online with up to four players across Campaign, Horde Siege, and Versus, or team up locally with 2‑player split‑screen co‑op on console.
How to check safely in your game
- After completing an act, open the Campaign menu and inspect whether it offers chapter or act selection.
- Check the collectible tracker to see whether it identifies the missed item and indicates that it can be recovered in a replay.
- If the game does offer replay, verify that a newly collected item updates the tracker before assuming it will count toward “Memories From E-Day.”
If you do not see a clear replay option or confirmation that the item counts, do not restart the campaign or overwrite a save on the assumption that replay will fix the miss. No verified alternative recovery method is established in the available official information.
Why older Gears advice may not apply
Instructions for chapter selection or collectible tracking in an earlier Gears game do not prove that the same behavior exists in E-Day. Xbox describes E-Day as a new game, and its published material does not provide replay rules that would support carrying over assumptions from another title. The Coalition’s gameplay update likewise does not address missed-item recovery.

Release timing and access
Xbox lists Gears of War: E-Day for Xbox Series X|S with availability beginning October 6, 2026. Access timing can depend on edition; Windows Central’s October 1 coverage notes early access for Premium Edition owners. Those release details do not confirm whether replaying an act recovers collectibles. See Xbox’s game listing for its platform and availability information.
