You can’t install an officially supported Chromebook version of Yandere Simulator: the developer currently releases builds for Windows PC, and the official downloads are for Windows, not ChromeOS. If you have access to a Windows PC, get the current build from the official download page. A Chromebook download alone will not make the game run.
Why Yandere Simulator won’t install as a Chromebook game
The developer’s platform FAQ says, “At this point in time, I am only able to release builds for Windows PC,” and that the developer is focusing exclusively on PC for now. The official download page offers a launcher and a ZIP archive, but neither is identified as a ChromeOS release. Downloading either file on a Chromebook does not provide a supported installation route.
Chromebooks can run some Android apps through Google Play, but that does not mean Yandere Simulator has an official Android or Chromebook version. Google says Play Store availability depends on the Chromebook model and may also be restricted by a work or school administrator. Check Google’s Chromebook app compatibility guidance for your device; it does not change the game’s supported platform.

- On the Windows PC, open the official Yandere Simulator download page.
- Choose the launcher or direct ZIP archive listed there. The launcher is the more convenient route for obtaining updates; the ZIP option requires downloading and extracting the archive yourself.
- Follow the instructions on the official page to download and start the Windows build.
These steps are for Windows. They do not install the game on ChromeOS. The game is still being updated and may include bugs or unfinished features, so check the official site’s current build notice before downloading. Its homepage displayed an October 1, 2026 update when checked.

What about Google Play, Linux, or compatibility software?
Google Play apps
Google Play support on a particular Chromebook does not establish that Yandere Simulator is available for Android. The developer’s platform FAQ says a full mobile version is extremely unlikely. Avoid treating similarly named or lookalike Android apps as the official game.
Linux and Windows compatibility layers
Running the Windows game through Linux or a compatibility layer on ChromeOS would be an unofficial experiment. The official sources do not document or support this method, and compatibility is not established. It is not a reliable Chromebook installation guide.
