Yes. Watch Dogs: Legion has online co-op for up to four players, and it supports cross-play within certain platform groups—not universally across every system. PC players can matchmake across Epic Games Store, Steam, and Ubisoft Connect; console players can matchmake within the same console family. Ubisoft’s published guidance does not confirm PlayStation-to-Xbox cross-play.
What co-op can you play in Watch Dogs: Legion?
Ubisoft describes co-op as online missions and activities, rather than confirming that the main single-player campaign can be played cooperatively. Its game description lists dedicated online content, missions, and side activities including bare-knuckle boxing, freestyle football, couriering, and street art. Ubisoft’s Ultimate Edition page describes those co-op activities.

Co-op group size and modes
Ubisoft’s October 6, 2020 post-launch announcement said co-op missions support two to four players, Tactical Ops teams have four players, and four-player squads can explore London together. The announcement also described Spiderbot Arena as a separate PvP mode for four to eight participants; that larger count is not the co-op group limit. Read Ubisoft’s announcement.
Does Watch Dogs: Legion have cross-play?
Yes, but the supported matchmaking groups depend on platform. Ubisoft Help says PC players using Epic Games Store, Steam, or Ubisoft Connect can play together, while console matchmaking is limited to consoles in the same family. Ubisoft’s cross-play support page says cross-play is enabled by default and that cross-progression is supported.

Ubisoft lists the game for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on its official game page. Being available on those systems does not mean all of them can matchmake with one another.
What do you need to play online?
Multiplayer requires an internet connection. Ubisoft’s Parents’ Guide categorizes the game as solo and online multiplayer for up to four players and says internet access is mandatory. Ubisoft’s Parents’ Guide does not settle whether a paid online subscription is required for every platform, so check the relevant platform’s current online-play requirements.

If cross-play matchmaking is not working
- Confirm the exact platforms. Check whether everyone is on PC, PlayStation, or Xbox, and verify the PC storefront. The documented groups are Epic, Steam, and Ubisoft Connect on PC, or consoles within the same family.
- Use the online mode. Ubisoft describes co-op as dedicated online missions and activities, not as confirmed co-op access to the main single-player campaign.
- Check the cross-play setting. Ubisoft says it is enabled by default. If matchmaking still fails, review the game’s current in-game cross-play options and platform connection status.
- Verify the pairing in-game. Ubisoft’s support guidance is the basis for the platform groups above; if a particular pairing is unclear, check the current matchmaking options rather than assuming that all systems support one another.
