There is no authorized PC version of P.T. that I could verify. Unofficial fan recreations have existed, but a free download or a build made with Unreal Engine is not automatically authorized. Whether a particular download or use is lawful can depend on the files, how they were obtained or shared, and the law where you live.
What P.T. is—and why the PC question is complicated
P.T. was a free, playable PlayStation Store teaser released in 2014 for the cancelled Silent Hills project. It was not a verified PC retail game. Konami later delisted it, according to a 2024 article in the Cardozo Arts & Entertainment Law Journal.
Delisting helps explain why fan recreations attracted attention, but it does not make a fan project an official replacement. The legal scholarship recounts fan remakes, including Unreal Engine recreations and mods, and says many received demands for removal. It is historical analysis, not a court ruling on the legality of every project or download.

Official PC release or fan recreation?
| Route | What is established | What that means for you |
|---|---|---|
| Official PC release | No authorized PC release was verified here. The cited legal article describes the original as a PlayStation Store teaser that Konami later delisted. | Do not treat a listing or download described as a PC edition as official without confirmation from Konami or another authoritative source. |
| Fan recreation or port | Historical PC remakes were reported; documented projects were removed after rights-holder action or pulled by their creators. Current social-media claims of a native port are not independently verified. | Technical playability, free distribution, or use of Unreal Engine does not establish authorization. |
A secondary overview of P.T., citing contemporary gaming coverage, recounts a PC remake released in 2018 that was shut down after Konami action and a separate Unreal Engine remake released in 2019 that its developer pulled. Those accounts help document past projects; they do not establish the status or legality of every file now circulating.

What Konami’s fan-content policy does—and does not—say
Konami Digital Entertainment B.V.’s European support page says: “Generally, Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. does not object to fans using copyrighted materials for non-commercial purposes, and in a manner which does not intentionally spoil the plot of a game for other players.” The statement appears on Konami’s official Copyrights, Career Opportunities & Goodies support page.
That is conditional policy language, not an explicit license to create and distribute a playable PC port. The page defines noncommercial use to exclude promoting a product or making profit, including monetizing a website or media channel. It also says Konami reserves the right to request takedowns or remove content it finds objectionable case by case, and that it cannot grant permissions for graphics, logos, music, or other content licensed by Konami or its partners.

The policy is published by Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. in Europe; it should not be recast as a worldwide, unconditional permission or as a decision about a particular P.T. port. Likewise, Epic’s fan-content policy concerns Epic intellectual property and does not grant rights in Konami’s game.

- Did Konami authorize it? Look for clear, applicable permission from the rights holder, rather than assuming a general fan-content statement approves a port.
- What does it distribute? A project that includes original game assets or executable code raises different questions from one that does not; the available sources do not decide the legal effect of those differences.
- Where did its files come from? The provenance of the files matters, and a download’s availability does not establish that they were lawfully obtained or shared.
- Is the developer distributing or monetizing it? Monetization may conflict with the conditions in Konami’s European policy, but the policy alone does not resolve every legal issue.
- Which jurisdiction applies? Copyright rules and the consequences of particular conduct can vary by location.
Recent social-media posts claim that a native PC port using original game files exists, but no authoritative publisher, rights-holder, or platform source verified its provenance, license, or current availability. Do not rely on those posts as proof that a build is official, lawful, safe, or endorsed.

If you want a clearly authorized PC version, none was verified in the sources available for this article. A fan build should be treated as unofficial unless reliable authorization says otherwise. The evidence does not establish that every act of downloading or playing a fan build is automatically legal or illegal; a question about a specific project, conduct, or jurisdiction calls for advice from a qualified local attorney.
