Yes, you can play Call of Duty: Warzone on a Chromebook by streaming the Steam version through NVIDIA GeForce NOW. The Chromebook acts as the screen and controls while the game runs on NVIDIA’s servers; this is not a native installation of the Windows PC game. The “$149” price is not verified for a specific model, retailer, region, or date, so it should not be treated as a current price claim.
How Warzone works on a Chromebook
Activision’s GeForce NOW instructions list the Steam version of Call of Duty: Warzone as supported. The setup involves signing in to NVIDIA, connecting a Steam account, and launching a supported game. Activision’s article is dated October 28, 2024, and support can change; check its current list before relying on a particular version or storefront: Activision’s GeForce NOW instructions.
In this setup, the game runs in the cloud and its video is streamed to ChromeOS. That distinction matters: meeting GeForce NOW’s Chromebook requirements does not mean the Chromebook can install and run the Windows PC edition locally.
What the Chromebook and internet connection need
NVIDIA’s system requirements page, accessed September 28, 2026, calls for at least 4 GB of RAM and Chrome browser version 77 or later on a Chromebook. These are service requirements, not a guarantee of a particular frame rate or gameplay experience on every device.

| FHD, up to 60 FPS | 25 Mbps |
| QHD, up to 120 FPS | 35 Mbps |
NVIDIA also recommends a wired Ethernet connection or 5 GHz Wi-Fi and less than 80 ms latency to an NVIDIA data center. It recommends using a USB gaming mouse. NVIDIA says GeForce NOW Ultimate is required for features including 1600p and 120 FPS streaming on a Chromebook. These are NVIDIA’s requirements and recommendations, not results from a test of a $149 Chromebook. See NVIDIA’s GeForce NOW system requirements.
Cloud streaming versus installing Warzone on a PC
Activision’s PC specifications describe desktop PCs running Windows, not Chromebooks. Its support article, updated March 11, 2026, lists these minimum requirements for local PC play:
Rank #2
- Storage: 16GB Flash Memory
- OS: Chrome OS
- Screen Size: 11.6"
- Windows 10 64-bit with the latest update.
- A Ryzen 5 1400 or Intel Core i5-6600 processor; Activision says only Intel and AMD processors with AVX are supported at this time.
- 8 GB of RAM and specified compatible graphics hardware.
- DirectX 12 compatibility, TPM 2.0, Secure Boot, and an SSD.
- 116 GB of available SSD space at launch. Activision warns that mandatory updates may require additional space.
The official Warzone store page lists 125 GB of storage alongside its PC requirements, whereas Activision’s support article says 116 GB available at launch. The pages do not explain the difference, and updates can change storage needs; treat each figure as specific to its source rather than as a universal current install size.

What “$149 Chromebook” does—and does not—tell you
The price in the title cannot be verified without a specific Chromebook model and a dated retailer listing. The available requirements also do not establish whether any particular $149 device meets NVIDIA’s RAM and browser baseline, or how well it would stream. Check the model’s specifications and its actual selling price before buying; do not assume every low-cost Chromebook is suitable.
